The contract, which has an average annual value of $7.45 million, will begin next season. The 23-year-old forward, who has seven points (four goals, three assists) in seven games this season, is in the final season of a two-year contract he signed on Aug. 23, 2023. Lafreniere is coming off a career-high 57 points (28 goals, 29 assists) last season and had 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in 16 Stanley Cup Playoff games to help New York reach the Eastern Conference Final. The No. 1 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, Lafreniere has 155 points (79 goals, 76 assists) in 305 regular-season games and 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) in 43 playoff games." Maybe Taxes don't matter. Seems like a sweet deal for the Rangers. Seeing Lafreniere get that after getting past his "bridge deal," feel a LOT better about the Cozens contract. Danke. Doohicksie
Holy cow: Canucks down 2-0 to Pens, then scored 3 times in 65 seconds. Wow. Edit: Canucks win 4-3 in regulation. I don't think that pace will keep going at that rate, and in the first few games he had some pretty bad defensive zone coverage issues, but right how he's fitting in nicely. If he does keep going at even a pace close to this, this would be one example of "the guy who doesn't reach his peak at 22, but keeps getting better every year, through age, 23, 24, even 25." Weave
We all knew Mitts had Tim Connolly hands. And he seemed to take at least as long as Tim Connolly to really show consistency with that super power.

triumph_communes
You show a replay where Mitts does his patented puck fumble and got lucky to finish it and you expect to garner jealousy? I don’t miss him. I don’t want to imagine this team without Byram right now Edited Monday at 02:20 PM by triumph_communes 1

Do they actually share the separate positive and negative components anywhere? I think those would be two fun stats to play with, the total goals for and goals against while on the ice 5 on 5 (yeah, I know I’m leaving out a portion of the +/- formula). There’s that with you/without you site and TRPM. Add those together and that’s kind of what you want.

DarthEbriate Posted yesterday at 01:32 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:32 AM Columbus is up 6-0 on Edmonton... and... McDavid had 1 shift of 37 seconds TOI. That would explain it.

From what I have seen Casey has played pretty well. I can't see him getting a 100 points but I guess anything is possible. As far as the plus/minus goes he is getting a lot of power play points so you would have to dive into to the 5 on 5 to see what is really going on. I will say this though who has had an easier schedule than Colorado in the last few weeks? Ducks, Sharks, Seattle, Utah, Sens, then they lose to the Chicago last night. It really does not get tough for them until after Thanksgiving so they better figure out what they are doing. I have also noticed Casey seems to get a lot of open ice. I think teams will start to stick on him some more. He is what he is at this point a decent 2nd line center in the right situation.

"Byrum" might be very good, I haven't seen him play, but Byram is a defensive liability. He's our worst or 2nd worst D man. The Mitts trade was a mistake (unless he wasn't going to sign for reasonable money and Adams knew and we don't). It's funny though how differently people can see some players. mjd1001
How good is Columbus? 9 points in 8 games, a positive 8 goal differential. Wins over Colorado, Buffalo, and the last 2 they blew out Toronto and blew out Edmonton. And they are doing it with "bleh" goaltending so far. Other thing I am watching is Kaprizov in Minnesota. He might be what I consider the most under-rated player in the game now. 15 points in 8 games so far. He had almost 50 goals and 100 points last year with missing 7 games. Since he came into the league, he is 6th in goals and 10th in points in the entire league. I think most of us on this board know he's good, but he is on the border of superstar/elite...and I don't think he gets that recognition.
