CallawaySabres Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 That usually happens around mid February in this city. Hoping for another solid effort for the last 2 months of the season 🤐 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 Yes. The Laine, McGroarty, and Askarov deals mean the GMs are back to actual season preparation and communications. September starts on Sunday and then the prospect tournaments are less than 2 weeks out. The completely silent period has passed us by. Quote
Thorner Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 “GMs have headed to the cabin, we’ll have to wait for camp to see some moves” season appears to be wrapping up. We are now venturing into “Have to wait until training camp battles shake out before we see some movement” season 1 Quote
Mustache of God Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 Yes and no. Yes in that we're just about through August which is typically the quietest month in the NHL off-season. There has been some noise around the league (Stl. offer-sheeting EDM, the Laine trade) but nothing Sabres-centric, unless you consider a few hours of believing Zadina signing a PTO constitutes as news. I consider the dog days over once prospects challenge kicks off, which looks like 9/13, or 2.5 weeks from now. After that training camp kicks off, then pre-season games start rolling in and before you know it we'll be in mid-december talking about what our draft position will be in 2025 as our season slips away.... PerreaultForever Posted August 28 Report Posted August 28 I always think September, but we are almost there. 1 Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted August 28 Report Posted August 28 Yesterday was hot! Total dog day, and training camp is still weeks away. We are still in the dog days Hope they last, too! Quote
mjd1001 Posted August 28 Report Posted August 28 I need camp and preseason to start. Things have been really slow. I've even been looking at more 'around the league' stuff than usual the past few weeks, not much going on, not much discussion. Maybe this time of the year it is always like this and I don't remember it well. I just really want something to get going. Quote
