Johansen and his agent claim he has a major hip injury that requires surgery.  He has been out with that injury since acquired by the Flyers last season.

And at least per Duff and Biron, that "material breach of contract" is likely that Johansen is pursuing a treatment plan that the Phlyers aren't on board with.  (Consider how the Sabres would've treated it if Eichel had scheduled the neck surgery that they didn't approve for him.)

It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out because according to the CBA the team chooses the course of treatment for injuries but the player chooses the specialist (surgeon, therapist, etc.) to perform it.

Expecting that to be the major item the players want modified when they negotiate a new CBA in a couple of years.

Feels that this either an Eichel-esc situation with a disagreement over a surgery, another scenario potentially Johansen's injury being called into question by the Flyers' brass (he's actively delaying his surgery with rehab to prevent needing to go to the AHL) or the Flyers are just trying to get out of the contract early.

How much does his wife weigh?  My guess is that the bride of a multi-million dollar professional athlete isn't running two bills or anywhere close to it.   Lifting a petite woman once as part of a wedding celebration does not equate to the rigors of playing in the National Hockey League.  Just my two cents.  I know very little about the player of the situation other than seeing this post.

Fun fact had Pegula been willing to acquire Johansen in the Byram Trade, Colorado would have sent a 1st round pick with Him for the Sabres Trouble

I guess it would have been a better explanation for the skinner buyout?

Frankly I doubt Adams wanted him anywhere near the players. After all he was dealt to Colorado for a UFA even though he had ok numbers that previous year. Supposedly he was a malcontent.

Frankly Adams wanted the first, same way as he tried to acquire Sean Monahan from Calgary.

Johansen wouldn’t have played last year and if he did as going to be a problem this season he could have buried or bought out.

Adams in many ways has sucked as a GM.

The fact the owner has blocked, for multiple seasons, any attempt to take cap dumps for assets sucks even more.

For the 1st part, it’s actually still up on the air if he was injured originally. He literally played his last game in Colorado.

I do agree though on the money part though
