I don’t think it will hold him back too much. You don’t put up a combined +43 in your age 20 and 21 years in the AHL if you are struggling with foot speed. It will be an initial adjustment but I think he makes it and plays quite well when he gets to the NHL. 1 Quote
ska-T Palmtown Posted February 25 Report Posted February 25 RE: Murray (sorta) - aren't we (the forum) sorta talking in circles? Most threads include discussion on ALL the player evals that the team got wrong (insert list of players we constantly lament that "got away") ... but now we are saying we TRUST their ability to properly evaluate Murray (or any other AHL player) ... which is it? lol 1 Quote

I would think it has more to do with that he's 21 and a LHD behind Dahlin, Power, Byram, Samuelsson, Gilbert, Bryson, and Johnson this year and the Sabres D-corps has been remarkably healthy. They've only needed one temporary callup and that was Johnson. He should make his debut next year. 2 Quote

I didn't think Murray was great or was going to be a star, but I also didn't think he hurt the team. I saw enough that I would like to see him in a lower line (3rd line maybe) role for a few games again. Quote
Ctaeth Posted February 25 Report Posted February 25 Murray had a longish stint with the sabres a few years ago and he seemed to fit. I was surprised at the time that he was sent down 1 Quote
Mr. Allen Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 Can he be tough? I know he has the size. But does he use it well? Can he fight if needed? Quote

He is AHL captain material though. 1 Quote

He’s on at least his second if not third contract with the Sabres. If he can’t make the last place Sabres, I’m not sure he deserves a chance elsewhere. He returned here as a UFA this past offseason, so yeah, he had his chance to move on somewhere. Quote
Big Guava Posted Wednesday at 02:35 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 02:35 AM Currently the best team in the AHL in both points are win percentage...pretty impressive. Quote

Porous Five Hole Posted Wednesday at 06:19 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 06:19 PM AAAANNNYYYYWAY, the Amerks are home tonight against the WB Scranton Penguins. Rochester comes into tonight having won three straight and 10 of their last 12, and the Amerks maintain a three-point lead on Laval and Hershey atop the AHL's standings with 70 points through 51 games. Also, the Pens are good. They’ve got 63 points through 48 games and only four points behind Hershey for first place in the Atlantic. 1 Quote
