Any interest in Patrick Laine?

Since the 2020 season, hes only played 174 out of a possible 328 games. Seems to me he can't stay healthy (I know he was in the players assistance program too). Who knows where this guys head is and to me its too risky to acquire him even if CBJ retains some of his salary. So its a PASS for me. Maybe GMKA has a different opinion, but I don't think he's gonna pull the trigger on the Finnish winger.

Not really. If they made a move, it would be interesting/intriguing, I wouldn't be upset, but I'm not going out of my way to pound the table for him.  I think it would be more entertaining that it would actually make the team better.

isn't he buddies with Dahlin?

I'd be willing to chance it.  He's still young. Maybe the right environment turns him into a better player

+ the goal scoring ability is high level.

If he is healthy and "ON" in terms of mindset, I think he can net 50 in a year.  The problem is, there is probably less than a 5% chance that both of those things happen, and then add to it his defensive (perceived or real) liabilities.

I don't think it makes sense for the team but I'm not completely against the idea. The question is who from the top-6/9 would come out of the line-up to make a spot for him, I assume they'd be going the other way in a trade?

The only player I can think of would be Greenway, but why would Columbus do that trade with Greenway being the main piece coming back that wasn't a draft pick. I reckon you'd also need a prospect thrown in there.

Tage - No, not trading #1 center for Laine
Tuch - No, not trading # RW for Laine
JJ - No, KA is too attached to his homegrown draft picks, plus they are only getting better
Quinn - No, KA is too attached to his homegrown draft picks, plus they are only getting better
Cozens - No, cost controlled player that is part of the core
Zucker - No, KA is not trading someone he just acquired in FA
Benson - No ***** chance.
Mcleod - No, KA is not trading someone he just acquired in FA
Greenway - maybe?

I’ve seen a few too many trade proposals with Jordan Greenway as the centerpiece.  Essentially, no one really cares about him, so let’s trade for every teams best player using him.  Before anyone goes all “well actually” I know he’s not their best player but I think you get my point.  No one is trading a prolific scorer for a PK specialist.

No?

Laine is a Finn and Dahlin a Swede so I don't think they've ever played together.
