LGR4GM Posted July 5 Report Posted July 5 Sounds like McLeod isn't particularly gritty but that's based on Twitter from Edmonton fans. Curious what he looks like here. A bit risky but you couldn't expect all of Östlund, Savoie, Kulich to play here. I'll let it play out, but I'm glad Adams added another center. 1 Quote
Flashsabre Posted July 5 Report Posted July 5 Helenius made Savoie expendable. The Sabres have added a ton of speed up front this offseason. Does Tullio go to the Amerks? Tullio’s dad owns the Oshawa Generals and a minority piece of the Sens. Tullio played for the Gens and was a good player. He will be a good AHL player at the least. Not a big guy. 1 Quote

We all knew (as did the rest of the NHL) that we couldn’t enter next season with Krebs pencilled in the 3C. This move gives us a legit 2-way 3C who kills penalties, wins draws and who is young enough and cheap enough to be a piece for the next few years. It also removed a forward from our logjam of forward prospects. I might agree that this move is “boring”, but the 2024/25 Sabres are better now than they were this morning. I agree. All these boring moves leave the end result still very much in question, but at least now we’ve completed ALL of the boring moves necessary for that to be viable the revamped bottom 6 narrative wasn’t complete until this move 5 1 Quote

Today, the Sabres are dramatically better. The Edmonton staff can look at Savoie and say, I think rightly, that he'll make his Oilers debut this season and stick for good in 2025-26. 1 Quote

Billznut Posted July 5 Report Posted July 5 McLeod likely becomes the Sabres best face off man since O’Reilly was traded away. Also greatly adds to team speed. Much needed. 1 1 1 Quote

It certainly changes the complexion of the bottom 6 (Robinson and Zemgus were fast, but no one was going to call Jost, VO, or Okposo speedsters). 3 Quote
