Seems they're looking for guys that fit better into what Ruff does than Granato does which makes sense. But don't know much about the guys they're bringing in as Amerks. Quote
Porous Five Hole Posted July 2 Report Posted July 2 The Sabres also re-signed Mason Jobst, which is welcome news 1 Quote
dudacek Posted July 2 Report Posted July 2 Their roster looks pretty full now. I mean, there are a literally 9 legitimate prospect forwards under contract that I’d expect to be in Rochester next year and they’re talking like Helenius might join them. They added Murray and Dunne yesterday, Slaggert, Warren and Jobst today. I’m not sure the status of Mersch, but that’s 14-16 up front, plus Rousek if he doesn’t stick with the Sabres. add Prow and Laaouan to Johnson, Komorov and Novikov, plus likely one or 2 of Clague, Bryson, Gilbert and the D is close too. 1 Quote

Metsa is a big piece on the backend there. 2 Quote

LabattBlue Posted July 2 Report Posted July 2 I don’t follow the Amerks closely. Are some of the vets being signed capable of dropping the gloves if liberties are being taken with the younglings? Quote

Are some of the vets being signed capable of dropping the gloves if liberties are being taken with the younglings? I’m not sure of the new folks being brought in, but the guys being brought back aren’t built that way in the traditional sense. ROC got bounced out of the playoffs by a stronger and more mature Syracuse team (all one goal games until the goalie was pulled late in the last one). But, they won four playoff series the two previous years combined before that (including beating that same Cuse team the year before). They have had a strong team vibe in that they stuck up for each other. But no police or enforcers. 1 Quote
LGR4GM Posted November 9 Report Posted November 9 Bump he's got 5g, 1a in 10 games thus far. That's pretty solid for an 18yr old in the AHL. I would actually expect his production to improve as he acclimates. 3 3 Quote

We needed a dedicated thread for all things Amerks instead of the Kulich thread to post about things down on the farm in Rochester. 1 Quote

Don't forget he played against men last year. His issues this season will be pace and condensed space. 1 Quote

Looks like we have another " gem" coming in a year or two probably could play some games this year in a pinch Quote
pastajoe Posted November 10 Report Posted November 10 Amerks lost 5-0 with Houser in net to Penguins. Matt Vernon called up from Jacksonville to back him up. Hartford’s Harpur was suspended for 4 games for running Sandstrom. Quote

Porous Five Hole Posted Saturday at 07:11 PM Report Posted Saturday at 07:11 PM Hockey Fights Cancer night in ROC. The Rochester Americans (7-4-1-0) will host Luke Tuch’s Laval Rocket (11-2-0-0) today at 5:05pm. Michael Houser will make his third straight start and fourth consecutive appearance Saturday against Laval, while Felix Sandström has been cleared to return after not dressing the last two games. He will back-up for Houser Saturday, then start Sunday afternoon in Toronto. Laval played last night in Cuse and won in a shootout. Hopefully the Amerks will have fresher legs because of it.
