Everyone with half a brain can understand why. To not you’d have to be willfully choosing to not look beyond the optics. You are just salty because you said there’s no chance it would happen Can understand why McDavid didn't come back out to take the trophy, but would've hoped that he would. It's reminiscent of the Swedish Juniors not letting their silver medals get put on back in 18 and their Captain (?) tossing his into the crowd. (Fortunately the Canadian fan that caught it gave it to a Swedish fan near him that managed to arrange for him to get it back.) You were deemed the best player of the playoffs and your team came within 2 goals of being the 1st SC Champion from Edmonton since '90 and from Canada since '93. It was a special season for him, and there ARE Euler fans still in the crowd. Certainly getting to see him receive that trophy would've been a special memory for them even though they really wanted to see him be handed the bigger trophy. Taro T
And good for E-Rod. Just now, PASabreFan said: Who walks out with your team still on the ice with the Cup? Pretty sure Billy Smith did that all the time. Never shook hands after the last game and wanted to do his celebrating with his teammates in the dressing room. Thorner
8 minutes ago, Andrew Amerk said: I don’t care how many points he had. He couldn’t lead his team to the Cup, so he shouldn’t be the MVP of the playoffs. There isn’t a player on Florida who did more to lead Florida to one that McDavid did. Or even as close to as much. McDavid as an ingredient supplied more than any other player. Florida just collectively averaged more contribution over a 23 man roster people need to stop acting like this is some sacred thing. It’s not like a player from a losing team winning is unprecedented. Giguere did it. McDavid was all time good. If not him? Who? I get for you the answer is “no one” but that’s a personal bias moreso than an accurate reading of the award’s criteria 2 1
Archie Lee
Great series. Better team won, but boy it was close. Panthers are maybe the best team I have seen at taking away shooting lanes. The Oilers didn’t back down from any of the dirtbag stuff and because of that Florida didn’t do as much of it. Tonight, and early in the series, I thought the Oilers were much too quick to shorten their bench. They ran their top 5 into the ice and by game’s end there was nothing left in the tank. Fun to watch though. Congrats to both teams and mostly to the Panthers of course. Now let’s make some trades.

Porous Five Hole
Matthew Tkachuk referencing Okposo’s speech/leadership made earlier today during his on ice interview was interesting. It seemed clear he was a complimentary piece in a Panthers room that already had great leadership. It’s too bad Buffalo couldn’t figure out KO needed leadership help with this team. Instead Adams surrounded him with the youngest team in hockey the last two years and we got what we got. 1
DarthEbriate
I would encourage the players to skate right to the glass. Share it with the fans. Get close enough for them to see the names. Make it a party. 1

SwampD
Pegula kept his last yacht a mere 42 miles from this celebration. I sure hope something rubs off on him. He’s gotta be getting embarrassed about taking money out of other owners’ pockets.
