Corp000085 Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Say what you want, but the sabres had no business sweeping the senators, just as the senators had no business being swept. With that said, i'm a little uneasy, but still very confident being up 3-1. As long as the Sabres continue to play their game, and possibly convert some of those golden opportunities, they will win. I think the sabres and us fans need the day off to just reset the batteries and reevaluate the fact that we're up 3-1, we can close them out with a win. 48 hours will do everyone well. With that said, lindy ruff has some adjustments to make. The refs are putting away the whistles (in ottawa's favor? well, that's to be argued later... i am not willing to call the screwjob yet) so he'll have to coach up the physical side of the game some more. A nice victory will help me forget last night's game... However, if there was a team to come back from 0-3, it is the senators, and if there is a team to choke from 3-0, its the sabres... Hope lindy can coach some baseball, cause all he has to do is bring in the yankees/redsox tapes. I'm cautiously optimistic about tomorrow night, but lets just relax for today!

Yeah, I think most Western New York sports fans are just snakebitten, by nature (with good reason), so it is all I can do to keep those demons you speak of at by, in my own head. That being said, objectively speaking, it is still likely that we will be able to win one game in the next 3. If Emery sustains the level of play he demonstrated in Buffalo, it will be tough. We really just need to be ready to capitalize on his brain farts. He has a few of them every game, and we have to be ready to take advantage in those cases because I don't know how much longer we can hold this high-octane Senators team down.

People don't take it seriously (because it's just sports,) but an entire generation of Buffalonians have grown up with the "us against the world" mentality. In 30 years when they all start to retire, Buffalo will perhaps be the most cynical city in the nation.
