Flashsabre Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 (edited) Who is the rest of the staff? Because Ellis and Wilford aren’t cutting it! Can we get a James Patrick or Jay McKee for the D corps and a PP specialist on the staff as well please. A younger coach who could succeed Ruff in a few years. I know everyone loves Peca. Someone like him as an associate HC (a promotion in title so he could leave the NYR) or someone of that ilk. I think Adams wants Appert to remain with Rochester. Popular Post Porous Five Hole Posted April 22 Popular Post Report Posted April 22 I’m open minded here. The assistant hires will be vitally important. Accountability was never a problem with Ruff. He will make sure this team doesn’t peel off of a hit and his practices will be hard. He has pushed offense with his teams. He gets to finish what he started with this team so long ago in the “No Goal” finals. 16 2 Quote
7+6=13 Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 Wow. I don't mind this at all. I just really hope they seriously looked at all the options. 5 3 Quote

#freejame Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 Well at least we know the PR is going to be off the charts after his opening press conference. There will be lots of talk about pride and the crest and what it means to be a Buffalo Sabre. 1 Quote
Popular Post Thorner Posted April 22 Popular Post Report Posted April 22 This feels like an incredibly short-sighted, “claw your way into the playoffs; worry about the rest later” hire. I could cry. Cry from happiness. Sabres are back. 7 6 Quote

eman Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 I really really hope Lindy is the guy to get this club back in the playoffs. I feel a bit apprehensive at this signing. My personal preference would have been Gallant or Berube but I did love Lindy once. I am afraid if this fails yet again, it will tarnish his history as Sabres coach and the club goes another season of no playoffs. I wish Coach Lindy all the best this upcoming season. Really hoping for "the old Lindy magic"! For all I know, maybe Gallant and Berube's agents already declined that their clients would come to Buffalo and I don't think Brind' Amour is leaving Carolina. God bless you Lindy- here's hoping for the best!! 8 1 1 Quote
zow2 Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 Sorry, but i hate the re-hire thing. Hope im wrong but i was wanting a proven coach from outside the organization. 4 3 1 1 Quote
RETURNTOGLORY Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 I'm actually fine with this! A players coach who does not take any BS! He also knows how to not only win but gets the most out of his players. Now as others have stated, getting the right staff will be vital. I believe that with the talent assembled, this team is geared for an open, offensive game. We also need to pick the right Captain, or bring one in. Here are what I feel should be the main focus regarding Lindy's supporting cast of coaches: PP Specialist Faceoff Specialist PK Specialist CLEARING THE PUCK OUT OF YOUR OWN ZONE SPECIALIST!! 2 1 1 Quote
