Bruins with their classic game 5 choke. 

The only thing that made it good was the situation and not knowing the outcome. The hockey itself was pretty bad. Lots of reaching, no tape to tape passes,… very scrambly. Everyone was holding their stick too tight. I feel like Boston will calm down and close it out next game.

EDIT: The other thing that made it good was not having to see Matthew’s porn stache.

Leafs can’t win at home but man if they gutted out a game 6 win then the amount of pressure on Boston in Game 7 to not blow back to back 3-1 series leads would make that game fascinating to watch

I know someone else mentioned this, but the home whiteout is just stupid when the away team is wearing white. So dumb.

I was joking with @SwampD as I only saw the game starting from the last 8 minutes or so.  

I think the Bruins will finish the Leaves off in Toronto.  Hope so anyway.  

I was in New England a few weeks ago.  They are not too excited about the Bruins.  Very fickle and spoiled fans.   The bartender told me "they suck this year".   LOL 

They have no idea the pain Sabres fans have had.  None.

You're trying to be a smartass I get that but yes, yes I am. 

The Canucks were ahead 3-1 but Preds actually outplayed them in Nashville so the possibility of this being tied up and getting a game 7 where anything can happen is very real. This is a closer series than most people expected.

Oh I know. Their bar is very high compared to the Sabres. If they lose this series there will be a ton of critiques with "fire Sweeney" "fire Monty" "Jacobs sucks" They have very high expectations and one could say they are very spoiled. Passionate group though. They don't accept failure as easily as some around here. 

Sabres are a joke to them. Very rare for them to even consider Sabres as existing, but when they do they generally use them as an example(s) of what you don't want to do.

Greater Boston is a very strange sports town. Up until fairly recently, the essential pecking order was (1) Sox, (2) Celtics, and (3) whichever of the Patriots or Bruins are playing better.

But I think the combination of NFL being king and the Patriots being a dynasty twice-over has permanently altered that pecking order. Bruins are probably now securely the 4th most important sports team in that region.

Oilers are *frauds*. Cannot score other than the power play and the officials are going out of their way to make it their personal mission to have them on the power play as much as possible today

Oilers won't get past whoever wins the other division. Hard to say who that will be but Dallas looked pretty solid tonight.

Been watching a lot of the western games and they definitely do not disappoint!!! Colorado is definitely looking like King of the West for now and the Dallas/Vegas games are incredible!! This is what exciting playoff hockey is! I would love to see Avs/Panthers in the final. That would be incredible!

I could not disagree more.  Post-pandemic, 90% of NHL fan-bases would be so lucky to have such a fraudulent team to root for. 

Just looking at their roster and at who is producing for them night after night and it seems to me they have reached that point of critical mass where they have a high # of players who are either in, approaching, or just coming out of their prime performance years. 

Once you get down to 8 NHL teams, the road is tough (this is not the NHL I grew up watching where 12/16 or 16/21 teams were in the playoffs). 

Watching the Oilers and watching all the former Sabres who are in the playoffs, just reinforces how terribly the Sabres managed the post-tank years. It is really just the past couple of years that we should be a top 5-6 contender.

Bahstahn was uncharacteristically flat last game. I don't expect them to come out that way for game 6. Which doesn't mean they won't, just that I don't expect them to.
