Buffalonill Posted April 19 Report Posted April 19 Who cares about playoffs our draft Lottery is coming up Whos ready ? Quote
sabrefanday1 Posted April 19 Report Posted April 19 Man there is some good and very interesting matchups. Colorado will have their hands full with The Peg, who beat the Avs 7-0 last week in Colorado. Playoff hockey is so darn good, and I have some greta memories of even our beloved Sabres (like Briere's many overtime goals and that shorty by Pomminstein versus Ottawa was the best in OT)... On another note, anybody think the Leafs will win a series? Their coach is a Granato clone in many ways, and the Leafs defense is pretty bad. Hate the Bruins too but imagine they will win that series. Quote

mjd1001 Posted April 19 Report Posted April 19 (edited) I remember this last year. I looked at the first round matchups, I picked the 8 teams I thought would win, I was very confident in those picks, and then it turned out I was WAY off. This years round one looks a light tighter/closer to me, and to be honest, the most fun/interesting first round I can remember. I'm really looking forward to watching the next 2 weeks of hockey more than almost anytime I can remember in recent history. Edited April 19 by mjd1001 Quote

Hawerchuk Posted April 19 Report Posted April 19 My picks. I'm going to the sports book tonight to put my money where my post is. EAST: Tampa (upset), Boston, Rangers, Carolina WEST: Dallas, Colorado (upset), Vancouver, Edmonton I'm thinking the Canes/Isles series could go 7. Wish me luck 💲 2 Quote
North Buffalo Posted April 19 Report Posted April 19 Only 3 series where gotta think one team will dominate... the rest are too close to call... Rangers, Fla and probably Dallas after that who knows Quote
SwampD Posted April 19 Author Report Posted April 19 I can't believe that the Pominville auto-correct is still in place. 😂 Quote
SabreFinn Posted April 19 Report Posted April 19 Florida - Tampa 4-1 Toronto - Boston 4-2 Rangers - Capitals 4-0 Carolina - Islanders 4-3 Dallas - Vegas 4-3 Winnipeg - Colorado 4-3 Nashville - Vancouver 4-2 Edmonton - LA 4-1 Quote

By metrics, the second best team in the playoffs and that was without a goalie for 3/4 of the season. Now with Freddie Anderson back and posting a .950 since his return? Don’t sleep on Carolina. I agree but Isle playing hard lately and gotta see how Anderson does... could be with a big if hence why I left them off. Quote
PerreaultForever Posted April 19 Report Posted April 19 I'm not predicting anything cause it's playoffs, and anything can happen. I think Florida Tampa will be the best and most entertaining first round series. Jets Avalanche a close second. Boston Toronto is Boston Toronto and it's going to be what it always is. Also interested to see if Vancouver can be a playoff team too or will Nashville continue the improbable. But who knows? It's playoffs. Best time of the year. 1 Quote
Pimlach Posted April 20 Report Posted April 20 I stink at predictions but here goes: Florida over Tampa in a barnburner Boston will rake up the Leaves Rangers storm the Capitol(s) Canes blow away the Island Vegas upsets the Stars Avalanche in Winterpeg Nucks beat Nash Oil spills onto La la land Quote

Who was the maple leafs player that sucker punched the guy who scored on the empty net? Do that again. Quote

Stoner Posted April 20 Report Posted April 20 Speaking of Isles, a bunch of bums with a GM who's too old. The Sabres were going to rip past them too. On Jan. 20 they were slumping but still only two points out. Stinky Pants fired his coach and brought in Pat Roy. They were streaky but enter the playoffs the hottest team in the league. 20-12-5 under Roy. Quote

pastajoe Posted April 20 Report Posted April 20 The only teams I can root for are Florida, Tampa, Rangers, Washington, Nashville, LA, and Colorado. I really don’t want any Canadian team making it past round 2. Especially Toronto and Edmonton. Quote
French Collection Posted April 20 Report Posted April 20 Anybody ruining the Leafs parade plans gets my support. Once that is done I will dislike the Bruins again. My two favourites are Colorado and the Jets. One will be gone early. Quote

I don’t know how accurate that is to say. By the same date as Roy’s first game, The Islanders got 61% of points. The Hurricanes got 74%. The Isles are certainly a much better team under Roy but I don’t think I’d call them ‘the hottest team in the league.’ Their last 10 looks good but they were very streaky- alternating between winning and losing streaks under Roy. But like I said the Isles were streaky all year. Quote

Ill see if he has long term success before I admit I was too wrong. Quote
