I’ve been a member/lurker for a number of years and the off-season is pretty dead on SS. This keeps the group engaged and is a chance to get to know people behind the posts. 

Microsoft TEAMS might be an option.

I'm not going to overthink this.

We'll use the Rave-Watch Party app. Good reviews and over 50 million dloads.

The game? Game 4 of the preliminary round in 1980 in Vancouver. 

If we can decide on a time I will start a GDT. I was hoping to create a fancy schmancy first post but it ain't happening. Hopefully we can crowd source the lineups, mini recaps of the first three games, context in Sabres history etc.

The Sabres were babies. Only 10 years old. They had a whale of a team that year, Scotty's first. It was kind of an Indian Summer season for the 75 finalists.

We had reservations for dinner, then we went to the local Art Fest downtown.  Got home a little while ago and saw it was a fairly late start so tried to get on.

Randall suggested the 7-6 Ottawa game for next time.

It was fun. Reminders of the past: standup goalies, quick whistle with the puck along the boards, crummy looking nets, Frank Christie, the funky buffalo made by kindergarteners, no ads on the boards, no score or time on the screen...

Nice choice.

You can’t imagine how satisfying it was for a 13-year-old Sabre fan in B.C. to watch his team knock out the Canucks.

I got to watch the Sabres a handful of times a year if at all. But everybody in school was watching this.

You also wouldn’t believe how easy it was for a young Sabre fan to be arrogantly dismissive of the Canucks back then.
