What is he supposed to do?  If the buck stops with him, as he claims, then the honorable thing is to resign. He essentially gave"responsibility" lip service and you  apparently bought it.

You apparently no nothing about being a leader and I won't waste my time trying to explain it. Buy that and chew on it.

How about changing of the front office where Adams is moved to a different role while Jason Karmanos is promoted to GM and Sam Ventura to Associate GM. All the final hockey decisions would be made by Karmanos.

Karmanos has been a part of three Stanley Cup winning Front Offices, Ventura has been part of two. They have a strong relationship with Mike Sullivan should he come available and Sullivan has worked with Bales in the past.

Karmanos was Jim Rutherford’s first choice for the GM Job in Vancouver.

Adams is the primary reason that Karmanos and Ventura are with the Sabres. They are responsible for the team drafting better and if they more control the team would be in a much better position moving forward. One such example would be having Luca Del Bella Cruz as a prospect over Leinonen.

Assessing Adams' off-season performance using analytic game scores:  (for comparison, JSkinner was graded at 0.53, rookie dman RJohnson graded out at 0.38, and fan whipping boy JBryson was also 0.38)

Players Adams resigned:  KOkposo (0.30), ZGirgesons (0.19), TJost (-0.09);   These were among the lowest ranked players on the team.

Players Adams traded for: CClifton (0.18) and EJohnson (-0.23).   Players Adams traded away:  CMittelstadt (0.82  1st on the Sabres) and DKulikov (0.54), who was immensely better that EJ.

Waiver pick-up ERobinson (0.04)  Player traded for BByrum (-0.28) the WORST ranked player on the Sabres.

I'm not sure what would qualify a GM to get fired, but this report card is an abomination.  To be fair, all transactions need time to age to make a fair assessment, but in the short term every decision Adams made last summer and during the season appears to have been the just plain BAD.  Imagine a defense with Kulikov instead of Johnson, and a bottom 6 that included NONE of Jost, Z, Okie, or Robinson, but did include free agents who lingered like TToffoli (0.8) and PSuter (0.77) etc.

Granato wasn't the reason the Sabres sucked.

It is more than plausible that both the GM and the head coach sucked this past year. Granted, Adams didn’t do much to help Granato this past year other than running it back with mostly the same roster. But also according to almost every player exit interview, Granato wasn’t doing nearly enough. I’m glad Granato is gone, would be pleased if they moved on from Adams, but that’s not happening apparently. Adams has one more season to save his butt or he will follow Granato out the door in 12 months.
