KansasPat Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Not so much that Ottawa won, but that from the sounds of RJ and JL, that Emery had to stand on his head for the Senators to win. This wasn't like last night, where Emery was saved by the posts. He was wearing black rubber gloves and a ski mask pretty much all game long. If you had told me before the second period that we would outshoot Ottawa 16-3 in the period, I would've suggested that two goals would've been a disappointment, and that we should expect three. Instead, we only got one, and Emery made some tough stops in the second and third period. It didn't surprise me that Ottawa won by a goal, but I figured it would be something in the 5-4 range, a la Game 1. Didn't think it was possible for the Sens to win a low-scoring, one-goal game (something they've struggled to do this year) facing elimination. Hopefully, Ottawa's defense plays a little more of an attacking style at home when the Sens have the puck, making them susceptible to an odd-man rush, something we really haven't had a lot of at home compared to on the road.
