The Coyotes maybe pit on pause with Ryan Smith the new owner deciding what player contracts and team personnel he wants to bring to Utah, The name, logo and trademarks of the franchise will remain with old owner.

Alex Meruelo will have an exclusive five year window to bring a NHL Team back to Arizona. He does however need to hit certain benchmarks during that 5 year period to maintain that window

Oh and congratulations to the Buffalo Sabres, they officially now have the worst owner in the NHL

Has been in the works for the past two years

Ryan Smith has met with the NHL multiple times

I guess winter sports do really well there. I'm sure they will be further along than us pretty soon!

They are front runner for the 2034 Winter Olympics, I imagine a new joint use arena for the Jazz and NHL Team will be build soon

Alex Meruelo bought the Coyotes for 350 Million five years ago and will get one billion for them.

The Coyotes were not paying for their hotel rooms, so the host hotels for visiting teams around the league got together and demanded cashier checks from the team prior to their arrival

I wonder if this move and the money being thrown around to make it happen peaks Pegula’s interest as far as selling the team. Would have to be a buyer willing to keep the team put.

To change directions, another aggressive owner will make things interesting in the trade and free agent market. Interesting which Coyotes players become available. I think most see Lawson Crouse as a good fit. Liam O’Brien as a 4th liner who is aggressive and will enforce would be a nice change of pace for this lineup too.

Wonder what the move means for Armstrong and the front office. Does Smith want a fresh start like an expansion team with all new hires under his watch.

I can't see them trading Crouse. There's a good reason why many teams would like to have him,  he's a very effective player.  Big,  tough and has found a scoring touch.

But he could ask for a trade.

That’s between 6.45 and 9.67 million per franchise and the owner of one particular franchise is saving 18.5 million (that cannot be spent on other Football Players) after a WR was traded.

Granato behind the Sabres bench next year is unacceptable

How much does the new scoreboard and roof cost?

Armstrong has been stockpiling high draft picks the last few years,  they're loaded with prospects along with some good young talent on the big club.  I would think he would keep things as they are.  The team is setting themselves up for a bright future.  Sucks for us that have been waiting for the players to get a little more experience.

Yep, although I'm sure the players love living in Phoenix,  I'm not sure I understand the talk of player reluctance to SLC, aside from the frowning on drinking 🤪,  I've heard it's very nice there.
