inkman Posted March 28 Author Report Posted March 28 I’ve seen players try to smash the oppositions face through the glass and get the same fine. I hate this league. 4 Quote

Ok, so i am old and wear glasses..... Did he really not touch him? I could have swore during the game, they has an angle that showed he did run into him. If i am wrong, then my apologies. Quote

I've been overruled so many times by people who see something totally out of wack with reality. I just wanted to try it on for size. It was a bad hit. 3 1 Quote

DarthEbriate Posted March 28 Report Posted March 28 Deserved penalty. Fine? Sure, whatever. As to the monetary value, does everyone get the maximum fine for everything? Because this isn't egregious or grossly premeditated. Quote
MattPie Posted March 28 Report Posted March 28 It's a dumb penalty to take. That said, I think you see that play every game, but that cat wasn't expecting it and it caught him off-guard. Otherwise, they bump and both skate away. Quote
Stoner Posted March 28 Report Posted March 28 Is a fine meant to deter future infractions? Is 5k a relic of the 60s when players roofed over the summer to make ends meet? 1 1 1 Quote

It’s a shame fines aren’t linked to their salaries. The max fine would be X% of their salary. These numbers are completely meaningless. 1 Quote

msw2112 Posted March 28 Report Posted March 28 (edited) The hit didn't look all that egregious to me. A routine 2-minute penalty that might not even get called every time. NHL players do much worse things all the time that are not even looked at. Although Tom Wilson of the Capitals was recently suspended for a stick incident, Wilson does stuff way worse than this multiple times every game. Edited March 28 by msw2112 Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted March 28 Report Posted March 28 If the dude didn't flop and flail, there would of been nothing. He came right back on the ice after that Quote

That's the maximum number the league is allowed to give so they do. When they give the maximum they are sying we'd like to give more but we can't. It's in the agreement. Quote

Weave Posted March 29 Report Posted March 29 If Byram has a little ***** in him, I certainly won’t complain. The team could use more of it, frankly. 1 1 Quote
