Weave Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 T minus - 1hr and my locale is solidly blocked in with cloud cover. Not optimistic that I will see much of a show. Quote
JoeSchmoe Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Got my first glimpse through a brief break in the clouds here in West Niagara. Quote
Weave Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Just once before I die. Kinda like championship expectations around here. Quote
Stoner Posted April 8 Author Report Posted April 8 I drove west to Corry PA and have planted my flag at a Walmart. Mix of sun and clouds. Got to see the start of the eclipse but now clouds are winning out. What a beautiful sky with so many cool clouds. It's almost like they are saying we are worth looking at too. Gotta get lucky for totality. 1 Quote

Stoner Posted April 8 Author Report Posted April 8 It was so sunny driving west. Now not so much. Meanwhile back home it looks to be now clear(er). Such is life. 1 Quote
Goldseatsaud Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Another hyped event in NW Ark!! Nothing great Quote
Weave Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 The gloom in the sky matches the gloom in Sabreland. Quote
spndnchz Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 I saw it. Frequent breaks in the clouds. Pink, some green, I liked it. 2 Quote
... Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 (edited) Turned out the clouds let us experience it very well where I am at. The coolest part was at the tail end when the light returned, sweeping through like a curtain was being pulled open. Edited April 8 by ... 2 Quote

Anyway someone posted this time lapse looking south toward downtown Fort Worth on reddit: I thought the clouds enhanced the experience actually. 1 Quote

Doohicksie Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 5 minutes before totality. Notice the street light is on. Totality Quote
Weave Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 The only experience here was a rapid darkness and then the rapid lightening. The cloud cover was heavy, very threatening rain looking. Had a less than 30 sec look in a gap in the clouds when the sun was about 30% obscured. Thats it. Disappointing. Would have liked to see a show. Oh well. Next time. Nevermind. 1 Quote

#freejame Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Success! I have pictures from Delaware Park but they are too large. It wasn’t perfect conditions but it was good enough to be amazing. Time to plan #3. Quote
LGR4GM Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Clouds cleared for about the final minute until after it started to pass. Was really cool there was a break in the cloud. Got some nice pictures. Quote
