Yep. When you don’t have the right mentality to sustain a hard push like this, you’ll never progress. That is why you need veterans that have experience for a push like this.

It was a long shot to win even with the win but this damn near seals the season. Too many games in hand and you cannot lose to those in front of you. They played like their typical selves.

The team embarrassed themselves… Coaching failed to answer Wing adjustments after the first period… Players outplayed the last 40 minutes.

For having been out there as long as they were at the end they certainly battled and crashed the net which is good to see. 
 

Sabres seemed to get slowly worked off their game, in part thanks to the refs just letting a lot go after the halfway mark of the game. Detroit has far more dirty players that took advantage of that. Benson literally got cross checked into the net for instance.
