Buffalonill Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 I don't know how anyone can defend this trade. We literally took a step backwards 4 7 1 Quote
kas23 Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 I get it. But don’t like it. Casey will be a PPG player on the Avs. We better know how to develop this guy. 1 1 1 Quote

Seems to me that the team's decision to sign Thompson and Cozens to 1A/1B centre money signaled that the team wasn't fully sold on Mittelstadt. 1 Quote
SabreFinn Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Are we sending Byram to Calgary for Rasmus Andersson? 1 Quote
Mustache of God Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 A move like this had to happen considering all the talent in the pipeline. If it's Mitts for Byram straight up I don't like it, but I haven't liked much of anything Adams has done. Quote
Crusader1969 Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Looks like he plays on the Avs 2nd pair as the RD. so that's good I am a big supporter of Casey. Really turning into a top player on the team, and battles hate to see him go while floaters like Tuch and Skinner remain 1 7 Quote
#freejame Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 I’m going to patiently wait to see what our other piece is. Quote
steveoath Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Don’t like this in a vacuum. Talks about developing players then gets rid when they’ve developed. Sounds like RK snake oil. 7 Quote

I don’t get it or like it. You’re absolutely right that Casey will thrive in CO. Unless we move out a big name LHD I don’t really understand it. 1 Quote

When questioned about it earlier in the season, he said that Sabres management never approached his manager. I was hoping it wasn't true but it appears that Kevyn had already signed his core centers and wasn't interested in signing Casey. Kevyn's a fool. A damned fool. 3 6 1 Quote
Weave Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Moves timeline backwards. Check. Trade a player that was risk not to sign. Check. Questionable if it fills a need. Check. Player comes cheap. Check. Im good with it. 2 1 1 3 Quote

I figured at least we had 3 good centers and were young. Boy oh boy spinning our wheels. Quote

He's looking down the pipeline with all the Centers he's drafted and feels Casey not needed. I wish he'd add a 2nd goalie. Edited March 7 by The Jokeman 1 Quote

I saw a rationale not too long ago that Casey was not going to be happy with a contract offer here given the deals to Cozens and TNT. I could see KA determining that he wasn’t going to offend Casey and just move him along. 1 Quote

#freejame Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 (edited) Kevyn is going to make a pair of really solid FA signings to fill our bottom two centers. The deals are all but signed. This is called foresight and I’m happy Kevyn’s thinking ahead. Classic chess players mind. Edited March 6 by #freejame 1 4 Quote
