Flashsabre Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 The run defence is a real issue. Josh couldn’t do anymore today. McD better get it figured out or another playoff run will be ended prematurely. 1 2 Quote
JustOneParade Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 We’re going to see a similar offense in one week. We’ll see if anything was learned. Hope our 2 DB’s are going to be ok. 2 Quote
Gatorman0519 Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 McDermott couldn’t stop McVey. This is my concern in trying to win a sb. You should never lose when your offense puts up 42. 1 Quote
JujuFish Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 Allen now leads the league in total TDs, with 33 (Burrow hasn't played yet, 2 behind). He needs 7 more to extend his already record streak to 5 straight seasons of 40+ (Brees did it 3 seasons in a row, no one else has more than 2 (Allen has the benefit of a 17th game, which he needed to hit the number in 2022)) Quote

Gatorman0519 Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 I fear we don’t have the defense/coaching to make a run. Hope I’m wrong. Quote

I am glad this kind of thing happened now, if it had to happen at all. The Bills are good. The culture is good The defense failed today but let’s face it, Stafford and especially his top two receivers, played amazing football and made catches that could not be defended, even with good coverage. Stopping the run has been a red flag for the defense, our DL did not show today. McD made a few decisions that will be debated as well. Thanks to Allen it ended just a 2 point game. Listened to a few Bills interviews, the players always say they go back and “learn” from what happened, it doesn’t matter if it is a win or a loss. I wish the Sabres could make this practice part of their culture. Edited December 9 by Pimlach 1 1 Quote

Seems all I’ve read are criticisms of the D, which they deserve, but sometimes you just nave to tip your hat to the players on the other team. Stafford was elite with his ball placement and what can you say about Nacua. And McVeigh showed why his play designs can give teams fits; he’s one of the best there is from a schematic standpoint. Sometimes it’s just easier to give the other guys full credit for their talents than it is to wallow in misery. 2 1 Quote
Pimlach Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 Dam KC Chiefs about to take a lead to win another game in the last 2 minutes of a game. Unbelievable. I hope they don’t. Quote

sodbuster Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 Everybody complaining about the d line is missing the point here. You're not going to get a good qb on the ground, and you saw that yesterday. Relying on a pass rush is bad strategy. You need to score points. Mcdermott comes out and his first comment is that he wished they had more success on the ground. Buddy, if you run it, you don't have the time to come back like you did, to give yourself a chance to mismanage the clock and blow the ending of the game for your superhero qb, who constantly covers up your dinosaur brained missteps. 1 Quote

I’m not sure. If they establish the run in the first half they perhaps better control the clock and keep the Rams’ offence off the field a bit. I’m not going to criticize the offence in any way, but I see his point. The D wasn’t able to match the star players on the Rams yesterday, and a more clock conscious offence was likely the only way. By the 2nd half, we had no choice but to throw the ball. Quote
LabattBlue Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 That was an outstanding game by Josh only to be ruined by defense and coaching. 🤮 Quote

Not a good look for a supposed super bowl contender. Lesson? Don't count your chickens before they're hatched. They blew it on defense and special teams, but they scored 42 points. The Bills scored more on offense than the Rams. It was the stupid punt block that cost them. Not sure how you can say they lost in the offensive phase of the game. They scored their second highest total of the year yesterday. Edited December 9 by Doohicksie 1 Quote

LTS Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 The Bills D has been their weakness all season. It has not been able to stop the run and they've struggled against the pass. It's been said they've been built to allow yards but stop opponents from scoring when they get to the red zone. It makes sense given how many yards they give up but generally rank well in points allowed. That said, it's a crap strategy and it showed. They currently play to outscore the other team and any team with good offensive talent can beat them. And to think, but for the blocked punt for a TD they actually did execute on the outscore the opponent strategy. But, they need to get better on defense and they need a front 4 that can shutdown a running game and coverage personnel that can cover. Quote

Gatorman0519 Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 For Josh to get up there and have to take the blame for the loss after what he did is unconscionable. I wish we had the coach that beat us yesterday. Quote
