Pimlach Posted Monday at 02:05 AM Report Posted Monday at 02:05 AM Bills won. Ugly win is still a win. This is a game they didn’t seem up for. Good wake up to get them to refocus. Beat the Jets at home next Sunday and they can clinch the 2 seed at a minimum. If KC clinches the 1 next week then the Bills can rest their starters in the finale at NE. Quote
carpandean Posted Monday at 02:21 AM Report Posted Monday at 02:21 AM This was definitely not a "Josh for MVP" game. He will need a better performance next week if he wants to erase any doubts. Quote
Crusader1969 Posted Monday at 02:28 AM Report Posted Monday at 02:28 AM I'll take the Lombardi over the MVP. It may not be a popular opinion but I don't care who wins the MVP 1 Quote
Flashsabre Posted Monday at 02:35 AM Report Posted Monday at 02:35 AM That defensive backfield needs to get healthy quick. And what’s the story with Milano? Quote

My gut tells me Bills are on a crash course with the Bengals... 1 Quote

Ok, fair But indy would have to lose one of their last renaming against two horrible teams (Giants, Jags) And Miami would have to lose one to 2 bad teams as well. And... The Broncos would have to lose both (one of those against the Bengals) I think it's probably Denver if we stay the 2 seed or Indy most likely. Also not sure we hold on to the 2 seed if we play like yesterday, Baltimore can catch us and they own the tiebreaker. In theory we should butttt you never know. That Aud Smell Posted Monday at 02:11 PM Author Report Posted Monday at 02:11 PM Post game interviews from Allen and others indicate that the Bills had a borderline preseason game plan for the Patriots. They're looking to keep their remaining good sh1t under wraps until the playoffs. I credit those statements based on how the game unfolded, looked from our perch in the 300s. I also respect that the team isn't organizing things in order to get Allen an MVP. They're aiming for the Lombardi. Fingers crossed. 3 Quote
Night Train Posted Monday at 02:30 PM Report Posted Monday at 02:30 PM At many times during the 2nd half yesterday, the Bills D had 3 guys on the field that played for local UB. BTW, Elam and Spector playing any snaps are a concern. Opposition just eats them alive. Pats played a great 1st Q to take that early lead. I give them some credit. Looks like the #2 seed is our finish. I would have been thrilled with that prediction in the summer, when a large majority of the media was stating the Bills were on the decline and no longer a playoff team. Swing and a miss. Yet the D has to get healthy and find a better plan for the post-season. 3 Quote

Until I see this defense shut down another team I'm not going to get too hyped up. Injuries or not they all need to play better than they are. The offense does not worry me. The defense scares the hell out of me. They are terrible. Quote

They simply are not good enough anymore to do that. Even when they were good enough to shut teams down and were the number 1 or 2 defense in the NFL, in the playoffs it didn't matter and they got torched. This happened multiple seasons. As they are built right now on D, they survive on takeaways and forcing FG once teams get into the red zone(which has not been working lately). They are very poor at 3rd down D, ranking 26th in the NFL at allowing teams to convert. That's one of the main reasons they struggle. Teams convert 3rd downs far too easily against them, even on 3rd and long. Edited Monday at 03:28 PM by Big Guava Quote

Even the Kelly led Bills had nightmare games against the Patriots who were similarly terrible back then as they are now. Andre Tippett and Ronnie Lippett used to be Kelly's personal Boogiemen on defense. Lots of ugly 13-9, 16-13 type games against them. Bills didn't seem up for it after the Lions game and also didn't want to "show their hand" too much with plays according to Allen so they basically ran things that everyone knows they run a lot which obviously makes it easier to stop, especially when you are not executing particularly well to begin with. 1 Quote

As you say, in the past playoffs, when they had a higher ranked defense they got torched. Okay, so should that make me feel MORE at ease about the current defense which relies on luck and hope? It doesn't. Quote

Fingers crossed that Josh remains superhuman and the ball bounces our way. 2 Quote

The defense has taken the ball away in many games at key moments, I feel they aren't just so-so, they are younger, but they look hungry. There is no mistaking the DL needs to pressure to ease the growing pains of that younger DB corps, but......I don't know SDS, I just feel it, this is our year. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago Anyone but into the conspiracy of the super bowl logo colors picking the teams/winner? Cause LIX is very red 😕 However the Beyonce promos for halftime show her in a cowboy hat rocking red and blue a lot.... So there's hope Beyonce> Swift all day. I would like to hope the Chiefs won't do it, because it's just too much, but I honestly don't think we're gonna do it, not with our coaches and not with our team relying solely on JA for 4 straight weeks. Prove me wrong Bills! Quote
