The cap is going to make that difficult this year.  The currently have 3.3M in space and that doesn’t count the need for a new kicker. I would keep an eye on Amari Cooper. His base salary is affordable and he has no guaranteed money due next year.

Nailed it!

This is the kind of move that should fire-up that locker room.  Big win in NJ last night, and then your GM demonstrates belief by addressing an obvious need.  Loved JA17’s emotion after that game-clinching scramble.  Hope this is the beginning of a season-defining six weeks.

I’d prefer 4 season defining months.

Well this is the guy that everyone wanted and was always the only option with the salary cap. The only surprising thing to me is that the Bills actually beat out other WR needy teams. This was a great trade.

But could there possibly be 2 consecutive days that highlight the differences between the Bills and the Jest any more than these past 2?

Signing Cooper as a rental for a 3rd & $800k when you have 2 2nds (plus who knows, maybe you get something else as FA loss compensation) when you desperately need an adequate WR1 vs signing Adams for a 3rd and $11MM this year and $35MM next year and $40MM the YEAR AFTER THAT when the QB you have that desperately wants him is 50-50 to even bother coming back next year.

One of these things is not like the other.

Likely a late 3rd...and they go from likely a late 7th to an early-to-mid 6th (moving up late in the draft but by almost a round-and-a-half likely)

Not just moving up a round and a half, moving up a full season too.  So, in typical value chart calculations it's like moving up 2-1/2 rounds in a single season.

Amari Cooper is just the 2nd 1st round WR Josh Allen has ever played with if you count Kelvin Benjamin at the end of his career as anything.

While technically true, we did give up a first in the deal to acquire Diggs and he certainly displayed first round ability while here.

Adams is also a rental. He has an out on his contract after this year. A 3rd and $11 million for a rental Adams is not much worse than the Bills' deal, especially considering Adams already has chemistry with Rodgers and had a 1k season with Aidan O'Connell throwing him the ball, and is a better receiver than Cooper.

If he's injured he won't be better than Cooper.
