Jack Eichel had 26g 70pts in 40 games. 0.65gpg and 1.75ppg.

Mack Celebrini has 22g, 41pts in 25 games. 0.88gpg and 1.64ppg.

Jack Eichel played his ncaa year as an 18yr old with an October birthday, where Celebrini is 17 and won't be 18 until June. 8 months younger with more gpg and trailing minimally in ppg. Celebrini has 8pts in 5 wjc20 games compared to Eichel at 5pts.

Celebrini is pretty good. I think he can be better than Eichel, doesn't mean he will be though.

Is it Celebrini or bust? Meaning is there any other players who are worth taking over trading ? Assuming you keep Celebrini.

Beanpot final on right now on ESPN+.  BU vs NorthEastern, sellout crowd at TD Center.
Cellibrini goal.  1-0 after 1.

Tuch (BU) vs MacDonald (NU), former teammates on Nat Champion U15 Jr Sabres.

They are playing hard, much more entertaining than our usual view of the game.

Couple other guys out there on D and Lidstrom big pivot in middle with moxie, but at this point Sabres need 3-4 forwards so 1 aint gonna do much...

Going to watch Saginaw vs North Bay today in a matchup of two strong OHL teams.

Saginaw has 10 NHL draft picks plus potential first round RHD  Zane Parekh in their lineup. Bonus is getting a close look at exceptional status kid Michael Misa, eligible in 2025.

But are these guys ready to step in ? Honestly buffalo can't keep the pick if  they have to wait 3+ years

They need results now

Misa is a good player, he’ll be a first rounder. Beautiful skater. I don’t see him as generational, he reminds me of Max Domi at the OHL level. As far as the exceptional status kids go he seems more Ekblad than McDavid.

Parekh is a scrawny looking RHD that is lol offense. He reminds me of Tony DeAngelo/Brandt Clarke. He is good with the puck and can shoot it. He even double shifted as a forward on some PPs. I didn’t like his vibe though, it seemed more cocky than confident. The Sabres seem to need more physical, two way Dmen than a guy like this. He will go high in the draft due to skill and scoring but imo is not what Buffalo needs in a RHD.

The skillset the Sabres need more of can probably be found in the second and third rounds of the draft. The first rounders will be more of the smaller, skilled guys of which they have plenty.

They have plenty of prospects and draft capital to acquire NHL players. Get help now and let the prospects develop and try to crack the lineup as they grow.

This is true, but unfortunately, KA is like this about the prospects.

Cap space has not been used since KA took over.

My problem has been not being the third party at trade time to take on salary and get a draft pick for doing so. There have also been expiring contracts moved to create space with other teams that he did not participate in.

This all happened while KA was in draft and develop mode, could’ve had another 2-4 picks. TP must have ruled on not taking salary.

Is it possible to start a new thread where there is only talk about the prospects themselves?   Not an argument on if the Sabres should trade the pick or not.

Or which small skilled forward will they pick this year ?

I feel like we’re not going to be in position to get him with us playing well recently, but my hope is Cayden Lindstrom is there when we pick.  He’ll bring the edge we need.
