Are the dates for the Cup finals already set?

Because if they are, it doesn't matter that all the other series are ending in sweeps. We'll either get more time between the semis and conference finals, or between the conference finals and the Cup finals.

 

Now, the bad thing about all the other series ending in sweeps is that it lessens the chance of other teams racking up injuries that could level the playing field, if you will.

 

If we need some time to heal some wounds, we'll eventually get it. If we need other teams to be at less than full strength for us to advance and win the Cup, we could be hurting. Fortunately, if there's any team that can handle a little bit of excessiveness in the injury department, it's Buffalo. Criminey, we've won two games without Connolly, and he's a morning-line favorite to win the Conn Smythe right now.

If everyone sweeps -- which won't happen -- the next round would start 2 or 3 days after. The latest possible Finals game is June 17th but can be much earlier.

Just found it. The Cup finals are TBA.

 

The good news is, we can clinch tomorrow, but Carolina can't clinch until Saturday. We could go 5-6 days between games, even with a Hurricanes sweep. If Jersey can win one, the added rest will be invaluable.

 

I'm rooting like hell for Jersey on Saturday. Outside of the 2000 and 2001 Cup finals, I can't ever remember doing that.

Looking like they odds are pretty good that the West will feature a California team. So if we ever get there, I know what I would use my rainy day money for.
