Yup...and they are sure playing like they thought this game would be a cake walk after they scored 30 seconds into the game.

 

Sadly for them Columbus didn't fold like they did last year when Tage scored 5 goals in a game against them, they actually can back and kicked the Sabres ass, although not a single one of their goals was anything close to quality. They still count the same tho.

Can’t wait to tune into the 3rd period when the Sabres are down 5-1. They will score 3 goals to make it 5-4 and then let in an empty net goal.. it’ll be exciting and miserable all at the same time

Ok here goes:

1st goal allowed:  Power obviously with the giveaway in the corner is the issue, but again with the forwards. They make the D look a LOT worse than they are.  Power is in one corner, Joki is in the other hopefully getting the pass from Power which doesn't make it.  But even at that point, there are 3 Columbus guys down low with just the 2 sabres d-men.  Where are the forwards? hanging around near the blue line.  Even if you think your D-man has the puck with no pressure (He didn't), you can't allow an outnumbered situation down low, ESPECIALLY when both D-men are in the corner. No coverage in the center of the ice, No effort or awareness at all by the forwards to cover the single most important area of the defensive zone to cover.

2nd goal allowed:  Forwards actually initially had good coverage on the Columbus rush, but then possible lack of communication.  Goal scorer ends up behind the net by himself after Okposo and Samuelsson bump into each other. Samuelsson is kinda covering the guy in the face off circle, Okposo is ready to go to him but while they are figuring that out, No one sees the guy right behind the net wide open with no one around him.

3rd goal allowed: I put that mostly on Johnson. Like usual, when the Sabres maintain position in the PK box they do not get in trouble. Johnson ,for some reason pressures the point and leaves the guy down low WIDE OPEN.

All the goals, there was a defensive breakdown where a Columbus player or a spot on the ice was left WIDE OPEN...again, and again, and again this happens with this team all the time.

Dahlin looks annoyed in his interview and for good reason.

This team frankly just doesn’t make sense because we see them play great some games but also terrible some games. Some can be attributed to inexperience but you can’t exactly handwave away going from 10 to 1 game to game.

He may be annoyed and maybe frustrated.  What I want to know is anybody (player, coach, etc.) actually PI$$ED?!?!  I don't want just annoyed, I want to see people yelling, throwing things, stomping mad, etc.  

BTW - what ever happened to the locker room shots between periods?  Maybe the team doesn't want to televise the boys with their faces buried in their hands.

My hockey IQ drops just watching this crap. Taking another week off from watching this garbage team.  They will lose a few more and I hope something happens so I can come back. Until then I am not going watch my team look like fools on ice and be aggravated.

Cool. But you need to stop passing up on shots and consistently turning the puck over because you’re even better at giving up goals than the Jackets are.

So right now the Sabres need a solid #2 to play with Dahlin. Mule is not the answer and would rather see him with Power on the second d pair. Also would like to see what R.Johnson can do with Clifton as a 3rd pair.

This team is full of skilled perimeter-passing wall flowers.  Never seen a group of guys more willing to pass the puck out of the slot.

But would Krueger & staff have a better record with this roster? Housley? Byslma? Rolston? Nolan?
