Spandrel Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Sabres have more trouble on 5-on3's that any other team I've seen. What a wasted opportunity. PTR We got a ton of shots off on Fleury, but between him and the posts, nothing got through. That was insane goaltending. We were ripping shots from all over, and just can't get through. BUT........ GOAL for Gaustad!!!!! I didn't see the goal, because OLN was in the middle of an interview with Ed Olczyk.
PromoTheRobot Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 GAUSTED! Where did this guy come from? 2-1 Sabres. Who needs the power play? PTR
mphs mike Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 GAUSTED! Where did this guy come from? 2-1 Sabres. Who needs the power play? PTR Apparently a 5 on 3 is the easiest way to stone the Swordsmen this season!
Spandrel Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 How many shots have rung off the pipes for us tonight?!?!?
BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 ANOTHER post ... kotalik this time ... after he got stoned by fleury ... Dumont fans on a 2-on-1
Spandrel Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Man, Sabres are dominating this period in every way, and if not for stellar goaltending by Fleury, this game could be 4-1, easily. Power play coming up for Buffalo, but we are starting to not expect much from these. That entire PP took place in the Penguins zone and once again, Fleury had an answer for everything we threw at him. He has had an unbelievable period.
Spandrel Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 And damn it, just like that, the Pens even the score.
PromoTheRobot Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Pens score on 2 shots...We can't score on 20. PTR

BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 HORRIBLE goal allowed by Miller short side ... Recchi ... Sabres dominating and nothing to show for it
Guest jwolf02 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 this powerplay is terrible. fleury is amazing, but my goodness. i know we posted a few, but i'm just not impressed at all with our pp the last 2 games.... 0-11?
GGM Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 This team seems to have the same problem it's had for the last 3 or 4 years. They just cannot hit the damn net.
Spandrel Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Frustration with a capital 'F', all right.
zow2 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 I've been meaning to sign up and now i will. miller SUCKS. I swear, he is not in the same league as many other goalies in the NHL and certainly not Hasek or the Pitt goalie tonight. It's like the guy falls asleep half the time? No excuse to let that Recci goal in or the few long slapshots he let in Sat night.
Guest Guest Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 This team seems to have the same problem it's had for the last 3 or 4 years. They just cannot hit the damn net. But they're getting closer. Now they hit the post.
zow2 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 I will say that Pitt gives us the most problems in the regular season of any team. We never have an easy game against them it seems even when we dominate the shots and other stats.

We never have an easy game against them it seems even when we dominate the shots and other stats. Or the playoffs... Don't you remember the imfamous end-game 7 for dominik hasek when he gave up on that scum Kafdiyiop7[8re's 80 footer in overtime? or lemieux's body vs. jay mckee's head?
Spandrel Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Anyone think were going to be able to get one more by Fleury?
Corp000085 Posted October 11, 2005 Author Report Posted October 11, 2005 good lord vanek... this guy is more streaky than a pre schooler. edit: although you technically have to score first before you can become streaky.
Corp000085 Posted October 11, 2005 Author Report Posted October 11, 2005 hit the net vanek!! MILLER WITH THE SAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spandrel Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Man, Drury misses on the 2 on 1, and then Miller makes a great save on the 2 on 1 back the other way. Jeez, this game may be stuck at 2-2.
Spandrel Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Pittsburgh is just beating the snot out of us out there. Heading to OT....
Corp000085 Posted October 11, 2005 Author Report Posted October 11, 2005 overtime... great game to watch, bad game to watch while writing a history paper that's due tomorrow
Spandrel Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 I hope we are able to sneak one past Fleury in OT, because I don't like our chances against him in a shootout. We do look quick out there, but the 4-on-4 should favor our skaters, one would think. Come on, guys.
Spandrel Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 GOOOOOOALLLLLLL!!!!!! JOCHEN HECHT WITH THE GAME WINNER IN OT!!!!!! That is one of the prettiest ugly goals I've seen. Connolly with the shot and Hecht literally crams home the garbage goal winner.
