Stoner Posted November 18, 2023 Report Posted November 18, 2023 So at least Don confirmed that the Don we see behind the bench is the Don the players see in the lockerroom. We can end that discussion. Leaking it to the media and talking about it postgame was a true show of weakness. He might be getting worried about his job. 2 1 Quote

I have not watched one second of the last two games, but if he is intentionally getting loud and leaking it, he hears the noise. Quote

Bingo!!! We have a good bingo, if there are no other winners that closes out game 17 round robin full board, moving on to game 18, regular bingo paying $20.00 or one beer at key bank center. 48 minutes ago, PASabreFan said: So at least Don confirmed that the Don we see behind the bench is the Don the players see in the lockerroom. They played better than they did against Boston BUT Winnipeg looks like an easier team to play against. They aren't going anywhere with that but no matter, Sabres gave it effort. Ultimately it's all summed up by the inexcusably bad 3rd Winnipeg goal. That was laughable. The ref whining has me scratching my head. He called 5’10” Benson for high sticking their 6’6” goalie and no calls on the any of the 3 guys that roughed Benson. It was a ***** call. Worse, we were a man short for the final 1:50. That helped Winnipeg close out the game. What is there not to understand? Edited November 18, 2023 by Pimlach 1 1 1 Quote

But I'll keep reading it because old guys remember that time at the Aud some crap skating talentless hack punched a dude. It’s not 1995. Enforcer means something different now. Some teams have several. We are not talking about the useless Andrew Peters type of enforcer. You just saw Hathaway destroy Cozens. His line also dominated the play every time they were on they ice. The zinger about old guys watching games in the Aud, that could offend almost half the people here, but we old guys don’t care about words. 1 1 3 Quote
nfreeman Posted November 18, 2023 Report Posted November 18, 2023 3 games under .500 in November isn't insurmountable, but what is insurmountable is lack of consistent intensity and focus. If they aren't over .500 by New Year's I am going to want a new coach. Quote

If that is how they respond to getting yelled at then DG needs to yell some more. We are on the same November trend as we were the last two seasons. It’s time to string some wins together. Eventually the yelling won’t work. Take away ice. Edited November 18, 2023 by Pimlach Quote

He's a purist and reasonably enough, regards DeLuca .500 as a lazy man's shortcut for his intellectually superior 12-pts-in-10-games approach. However, what Taro fails to appreciate is the simplicity and ease of use of DeLuca .500, which doesn't require you to know what the Sabres' record is in the current 10-game block as well as in all prior 10-game blocks. And his adoption of the simple-minded, dishonest, marketing-driven NHL .500 as a personal backlash against the far superior DeLuca .500 is spiteful, irrational and borderline unforgivable. 2 Quote

You don't need to know how many games they've played any more than you do with that other to understand the NHL 0.600 vs the other. Look at the standings page. Is the percentage of points >= 0.600? Yes, well then, you're good to go. No, well then get cracking. The 12 in 10 is simply a measuring stick for how they're doing now. And, it's awesome that the Sabres met that metric you cherish so last year, because it put them in the playoffs, right? 🫨 Quote

It's still hockey and it's still a tough game and teams still have hard nosed players and there are still fights and almost every team has an energy line (but not the Sabres) and you shouldn't get your panties in a bunch over it. It's 2023 and hockeyfights.com is still one of the most popular hocket sites on the internet. Deal with it. 1 Quote
