Some teams were complaining about being overheard about picks and trades due to the proximity. Another mention was the free agency date being too close to the draft. To the bolded point, I have wondered for years how these teams manage to hide any of their intentions/secrets/trade conversations when they are packed onto the floor together elbow-to-elbow. It always seemed odd to me. Quote
