Zach Benson's NHL tryout, 2023

I think Benson gets his 9 games, then possibly Savoie,... then next man up out of Rochester.

Kulich is sporting 6G 3A, +4 in seven games played in the AHL this year. 
 

I realize your point is about the development of Benson, but in terms of what makes the most sense for the Sabres in 2023…I think it’s Benson back to juniors to gain some weight and Kulich (or Rosen if more defensively responsible than Jiri) into the lineup. 
 

 

I’m not opposed to that in the least. Except to say that Benson can gain weight here just as easily and under the auspices of the training and nutrition staffs to boot. Why does it have to be a question of Benson blocking Kulich or Rosen?

His only contribution lately is the penalty box. He needs seasoning and a protein shake other than here right now

It’s because Benson isn’t producing.
