bob_sauve28 Posted October 10, 2023 Report Posted October 10, 2023 Parkinson's sucks. Poor guy, hope he handles it as well as it can be 1 Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 10, 2023 Report Posted October 10, 2023 Sad news. 67 is pretty young, but we are seeing cases start in their 40s. Michael J Fox was very young when diagnosed. Quote
Eli Cash Posted October 11, 2023 Report Posted October 11, 2023 Very tough battle ahead for Coach Melrose. Thankfully, in many cases, cognitive functioning remains intact throughout the fight. 1 Quote
Pimlach Posted October 11, 2023 Report Posted October 11, 2023 Parkinson’s is rough. Hope to see more progress treating it someday. Quote

matter2003 Posted October 11, 2023 Report Posted October 11, 2023 Damn...that is a tough road to travel...better than ALS tho. Quote

It’s not exactly scientific, but my grand father in his 70s, then my dad in his 60s… Quote

I meant there are more treatment options...ALS there is nothing you can do. I have a cousin who has Parkinson's, I know it's not great either. 1 Quote
Claude Balls Posted October 11, 2023 Report Posted October 11, 2023 I've always liked Barry Melrose. This is sad to hear. Quote
FrenchConnection44 Posted October 12, 2023 Report Posted October 12, 2023 So sad. Hard not to love the guy. He was such a gift to hockey as an announcer. His personality was really likable. And he was good at what he does. 🙏 for Barry. Quote
