TSN Overdrive ripping Terry Pegula today

- - -

Apparently Ristolainen mentioned he really wished he had Tortorella as a coach when he was young.

This is definitely the wrong topic for this to be in. Around the NHL is literally anything else but the Sabres that doesn’t deserve its own topic.

Detroit's hot start has cooled

Imagine how bad it would've been had they not signed 😀😄😀 Kane.  (Sorry, couldn't quite get that out fully without laughing.)

Of course Philly has problems. Nobody (including Philly themselves) thinks they have enough talent to go very far but what they have done is maximized effort, created a solid team unity, and they have a hard working team that doesn't quit (very often). You do those 3 things to the Sabres talent and you have a solid and dangerous playoff contender.

Unfortunately that's a step we never seem to take and usually go 2 steps backwards after every one forward and that for the umpteenth time is on the coaches and the leadership.

As for Risto praising Torts, of course he does. What Torts did with him wasn't magic. He merely identified Risto as a big solid D man with the IQ of a squirrel and so he simplified the game down to it's basics and Risto unlearned all the crap he had in his head that had him confused. The expectation was lowered, the responsibility was removed and he learned to do a simple basic defensive role. He still hits, but he does not run around all over the place trying to be everything. He just stays in his lane and does his job and it works. Sabres wanted him to be Hedman or somebody like that and that was just asking too much.

We're doing the same thing to Power right now. He might come out of it okay as he seems to be a much smarter player but we might also ruin him. It's what we do.

Hasek and Comrie had the same number of NHL games (25 and 28 respectively) when they came into the NHL.  Hasek's Sv% wasn't standout prior to Buffalo.  Comrie's wasn't either, but was on an upward trajectory when he came to the Sabres.  Both goalies were blocked by more experienced #1s on their teams.  You lol the comparison, but by the numbers they were comparable a the point they came to Buffalo.

But that's part of why I put you on Ignore from time to time:  You don't just disagree, you sneer at people who come to different conclusions from you.... you just ooze disdain.  It's just not a good look.

You turn a discussion about hockey into an ad hominem attack.

Comrie had the same amount of games…after over a decade of hockey in North America post draft AHL(4) NHL (6)!

You just leave out the biggest variable

lol

Yes, comparing Comrie to Hasek was sneer worthy. Is that seriously the conversation? It was objectively sneer worthy at the time. It was a laughable comparison - is that supposed to be news?

if that hurts yours feelings, I apologize

on the other hand, respectfully: git outa here with that garbage. You responded “blah blah blah blah” to my post like a few weeks ago. I don’t want to hear about respectful conversation from you tbh

Blah, blah, blah ...

Frank is using an old photo on his Twitter - he is old and fat now.

The other two - the hottie and the scruffy in a pretty hotish way dude are playing footsie (at least) in the studio whilst Frank is rambling.  She has *the look*.

They already had NHL games played when they came to the NHL? That’s pretty impressive.

This doesn't look overly egregious. Looks like alot of hits of those type where the player takes the body but doesn't put their full weight on the other player just kinda takes a piece.

Why was Pasta in the box if he had a game misconduct?

I grayed out the Questionables, assuming they are short term.  But there are teams that may be looking for help.  I'm sure the Sabres are looking at each team's situation and trying to see if there's a mutually beneficial deal available involving Comrie.

Dregger says Adams has not been mentioned as a GM in the recent goalie talks.    Which probably means a deal is imminent.

On another note, Carson Briere, son of former Sabre great Danny, and his friend Patrick Carozzi, got sentenced to 15 months probation for throwing a woman's wheelchair down a flight of stairs at a bar in Pennsylvania earlier this year. The wheelchair belonged to a woman who was in the bathroom at the time. She had lost her legs in 2021 in a car accident.

I’m both disappointed and ok with it strangely enough. What he did was idiotic and underhanded as well as attempted destruction of property but didn’t actually hurt anyone. So Carson is a brain dead jackass but that isn’t exactly prison worthy.

Wasn't he also removed from the hockey team or something like that, if so then that fits

That sounds correct.
