The man has a shelf life but I'm pretty sure he does this every time he goes somewhere new. I know it's his second year there but...

Not sure how much truth there even is to the shelf life stuff.  I think he is just a very good coach.

I've seen a few Flyers games and they (usually) play very solid disciplined hockey. Very hard to play against. Decent goaltending, solid D, very good PK and physically tough. They lack goal scoring but can counter punch really well and most of all they DO NOT QUIT. They are tenacious, which of course all points to Tortorella.

I still remember him last year end of season up in the press box with Briere pointing out who has to go. Guess they got it right.

I still expect them to miss the playoffs due to the lack of offense but the games will stay close and it's not impossible for them to hang in there with a little luck. Whatever happens I think they are doing their rebuild correctly. If/when they get Michkov added to the mix watch out.

Interesting to listen to Barry Trotz interview.  He mentioned that he thought to many players on the Preds were comfortable and was forced to make moves.
honestly, I think that's the biggest issue with the Sabres right now.  Players and probably coaches aren't held accountable.
time for Adams to make a move, show the dressing room that lack of effort will not be tolerated.  Waive someone, make a trade, fire a coach.
wake up !!!!!

This would be true for a veteran team. The Sabres aren’t that though.
You might say DG isn’t your preference as the coach of this team, but he’s been given the youngest team in the NHL back to back years and no NHL goalie the whole time (other than every fifth game Andy).

Yes I realize the Sabres aren’t performing relative to the expectations, but I don’t think it is because the Sabres are too comfortable. I think it’s because they weren’t constructed with enough experience and talent to compete. That falls on the GM.

Why would that be roughing? He got hit in the chest.

It's been called before. When McCabe was a Sabre, he got kicked out of the game against Boston when he did the exact same thing a few years ago

He gets rotated out  after his act gets stale.

Happens at every stop.

His coaching jobs have lasted 7yrs, 5yrs, 1yr, 6yrs, and now he is in year 2 in Philadelphia.

Not many coaches keep a job for 5 years.

No wonder his act gets stale then I guess

Six years is about the shelflife of any coach.

Tatar to Seattle for a 5th Round Pick

Not understanding that one.  Wasn't he giving the Avs what they'd expected when they signed him?

He's on pace for where he was 2 years ago.  (Behind last year's pace, but he's 33.  They couldn't have expected last year's guy could they?)

I think 1 goal in 27 games is really bad.  I'm not sure who they have as far as young guys, but at this point, they might be thinking any young guy that will take his place (and his 11 minutes per game ice time...virtually no pp or pk role) might be an upgrade.  The question is...why was seattle interested?

Not surprised after he got rocked last night. But he was having a bad season prior to that so it was just a matter of time anyway.

Exactly facial bleed isnt internal brain bleed... he wasn't dying... if its a trauma hospital those in immediate danger of dying get treated first plus because of deep facial cuts probably needed a specialist who may or may not be on call this time of year, and would have to be brought in or at least consulted

Last night at my hospital was busy with mvas and heart attacks... sorry dude non life threatening injuries wait.
