He makes passing references to Buffalo/London regarding his career ("suitcase", lol), but mainly in regards to players not having control of where/when they are traded. If I posted in error, I assume there are remedies you can seek with the board administrators.

Very brave statement for Zadorov to have made. When he left Buffalo, I thought he was an immature young player with a lot of talent. This has definitely changed my perception of him as a person. Not sure how he has developed as a hockey player, but as a Russian voice, this says a lot about him.

Welcome back!

It is very brave of Zadorov to sound off like that.  As the killing of the son of a friend of my late father in Vancouver shows, political assassination by foreign governments can happen here.

Not to drag this into the pit, but the situation you described is just terrible.  Seems like Canada has very few, if any, friends willing to stand up for us in the quest for justice.  It makes it very personal to know someone personally involved.

Zadorov is brave.  I only hope that his family is in safety somewhere, but there is no place to really hide from our friend in Moscow.

Is he brave? Or is he stupid? If Russia is back to its heyday of '60s-style oppression isn't he putting his family at risk regardless of their difference of opinion? They could be arrested and thrown in the gulag. Sent to Siberia. Undoubtedly his family will become pariahs. It's a pretty selfish act that will have zero impact on the decisions of such a ruthless, heartless villain like Vladimir Putin.

He says "I probably can't go back to my Motherland, where I grew up" but the article ends stating "he has not gone back to Russia the past off seasons and does not intend to until matters improve." Well, which is it, you can never go back or will you go back later?

This is like Russian media asking Jake McCabe to opine on the illegal immigrant crisis here.

Someone is selling a narrative and Zadorov, with his "child's hope", happens to be happy to help.

It's not about hockey and it's off-topic.

To answer your weird question - he is brave, and good for him.

There are times where I wonder myself. Activism has its big downsides if the other side is willing to kill you.  I have decided that I will not be silenced, but I understand that I might pay a high price.  I imagine that Zadorov has made the same analysis.
