I think Kane should get more than Reaves but a three year term is crazy to me, considering his age and surgery.

It sucks for the rest of the league if Toronto’s cap geniuses set the market.

So according to this he has narrowed it down to a team with $0 cap space and a team with $450 000 cap space. Sounds legit.

The Leafs media is the best. They will have them trading prospects and 1sts for McDavid and Draisaitl and just have the cap magically work out.

If I could add a former high first round pick who is currently rehabbing from hip surgery, it would be Jesse Puljujarvi.  Big, the right age, I think has always had good underlying #'s, but has just never produced the offence expected when he was drafted.

Kane last year was at 41.9cf% at 5v5. His possession quality was -16(xgf-xga). Without his pp numbers, he was really bad last year. If you plan to add him, you are basically swapping him for Olofsson.

It's fair not to want to give the Sabres the benefit of the doubt, but still.  It would be such an ill-considered, incompetent bozo move.  This isn't the way KA operates.

Backstrom  passed his physical, just couldn’t perform at his previous level.
