This one was a big deal because she beat world number one and previous nemesis Iga Swiatek in the semifinals. She also beat her doubles partner, Coco Gauff, in the quarterfinals. This might be thr biggest prep tourney for the US Open next month.
Jessie is world number three and has earned almost four million in prize money in her career. She’s made the quarters in all four of the majors at least once in her career. I’ll be watching the US Open and hope she breaks through in a major. She’s also a lock for the US Olympic Team in Paris 2024.  🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

She will have the easiest opportunities at the US and Aussie Opens (see my comments in The Other Sports Thread).  Wimbledon will always be tough for Americans--you need to be on a Williams/Sampras level to win there because we don't have many grass courts here anymore.  Same goes for clay at Roland Garros.
