I would much rather replace him with a vet UFA who can slide around when he gets back than what the radio guys are talking about, Kulich or Savoie

Savoie was always likely to start the season with the Sabres. 
The door is wide open for Rosen or Kulich to get some valuable NHL experience right off the hop
