I'm watching this right now. Quinn looks pretty good too. Really nice pass on the Weegar PP goal. Easy game for Canada though. 

Highlights from the Chechia Slovakia game look crazy though. Massive hits in an International game, that's kind of new. I don't know much about the history there, but clearly the split of that country has led to some rivalry and hate.

He should get a game or two. Tourigny was his coach at the World Juniors he starred in.

Their upcoming opponents are Slovenia, Norway, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Czechia, Switzerland, surely he can handle a few of those.

TSN said Tourigny will go with Montembeault for the important games. I guess Levi and Hofer may get a game or two each. There are 7 round robin games.

I hope it’s in deference to his older age and more NHL experience, because I certainly don’t think it’s in deference to him being a better goalie than Levi.

I think it is an NHL seniority thing. I would think there is a short leash if he falters, having two NHL calibre goalies waiting in the wings. Montembeault is not Carey Price.

I’m pretty sure this tournament isn’t a development showcase for the sabres. The coach will play who he feels can get them wins. I’d love to see Levy play but the handwringing over Levys icetime is 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Agreed.  But if Levi doesn’t give them the best shot at winning Adam’s better be serious about upgrading our goaltending.  If he gives Canada less of a shot to win then the Montreal Canadiens 1a/1b who just came off a season giving up 3.42 GAA then that’s not good of we’re relying on him for next year. 
 

It’s a May tourney so whatever.  But I think it’s significant if Levi loses the job to Montembeault come elimination games.  I’ve been banging hard on the drums how this team better not punt a season because they don’t address goaltending again.  I have all the hope in the world for Levi down the road but I’m still concerned we’re relying too much on a 21 year old kid in 23/24.
