The most underappreciated aspect of hockey is how much randomness affects the game. Reinhart doesn’t score that overtime goal if the goalie didn’t happen to look the wrong way during the wraparound. No one can predict that. No one can predict goals that bounce off of two players and hit the back of the net.

I've almost fully come around to this after decades of watching. It's the most terrifying thing about the sport. That missed point shot of the back boards caroming out... Shiver me timbers. Probably more than 50% of my addled brain believes in Hockey Gods.

Well, I think my chances of edging you out(best case scenario for me) ended when the Oilers lost last night. 
 

That being said, if the Canes go out next round, I am in a free fall. 😂
