This team isn't 'Just a goalie away'

This team isn't 'Just a goalie away'

Conservatively, we have 5 more wins this year with league average goaltending.

Where does that put us?

Uhhh, and jeopardize the FUTURE?! Fat chance buddy

LOL, I know that has sarcasm in it, but it's what I think is missing.  For the forwards it can be an experienced guy for the bottom 6.  For the D, I am going to hope it's a 2nd paired D-man that would cost some decent money.  Be great if both had some good PK experience!

I can HOPE, even at my age!

In a position to lose out because we don't often get league average goaltending? That it looks like everyone else has pretty much quit isn't great either, but let's not shake up the chemistry in the room.

What praytell do you learn for getting your ass kicked and giving up Rob?

That getting your ass kicked sucks? I don’t ever want that again and I’m gonna work my ass off so it never happens again?

Will they take that approach? Who knows? Why are we still watching? 🧐

Seriously. Why shouldn't they boo? The team was in a playoff spot, the management decided to bring in minimal reinforcement, the team fell apart and are getting shellacked. Again.

I have tickets to the April 1 game in Philly and if this keeps up I'll be there just to boo the Sabres.

You get it!

If we finish with about 82 points.. probably out of the playoffs

Same.

The fact that the lowest cap spending team in the league was in the wildcard mix this late in the season is reason to be optimistic.

It's what they do with that cap apace moving forward that matters.

I give you props for the optimism. I can’t find any.

So it Savoie, Levi, and Kulich are on this team next year - and Anderson, Olofsson, Zemgus, and Okposo are gone - would we be a younger team in 2023 then 2022?

Do the math. It should be close.

Nobody ever suggested they were. But goalie is a good place to start seeing as how we haven’t had a legit one for a while now.

The post I quoted said this exactly, that they are a goalie away from the playoffs
