Levi does have something special, but that doesn’t preclude adding a real goalie.

All it precludes is adding a real goalie with a huge amount of term.

If you have to dump the vet at a loss because Levi pushed past him, no one around here is going to be crying about that.

Same goes with UPL and or Comrie.

This isn’t like a David Perron blocking a JJ Peterka from a middle-six role, this is about the starting goalie: the best man wins.

Devon Levi  You are Buffalo's only hope .

 No pressure

Looking at Lehner in Buffalo and Knight in Florida, I hope the Sabres provide Devon with a 24/7 chaperone/handler.

Sabrespace II: The Wrath of Scott.

Does that make being a Sabres fan our Kobayashi Maru test?  If so, how can we reprogram the simulation?

The Sabres are perpetually in an unwinnable situation.

Interesting fact, Yaniv Perets is from Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec. Same town as Levi.

If this is the case, shouldn't his name be pronounced:

LE (as in "let")- vee

?

Not "Levi" as in the jeans?

I've heard it pronounced the later way

The 1st goal against, he overplayed a Friar taking the puck wide of the net and couldn't get back across to stop a wrap around.

The winner was tipped wide off the end boards and the puck bounced right back to the guy that had tipped it and Levi couldn't get across in time.  He came close, but the play was bang bang.

Welcome to Buffalo!!!!!!

They credited him with 33 saves but Providence only had 34 shots.  Pretty sure he only had 32 saves.  (Unless they aren't counting the 1st goal as a shot because it deflected off a Husky defenseman on the wraparound.  Which makes no sense.)

Oh thank Heaven.  Get him here tomorrow, please!

They won't announce the NCAA bids until next Sunday.  Even though they won't get in, could see him holding off on signing until then, unfortunately.  His team, literally, is going to be the highest ranked team missing the dance.

That poll is meaningless though. It gets funny with the final one where the voters get lazy and it will essentially mirror the PWR. So they may fall out of the poll as soon as this week.

Dryden had spent the season in the AHL before his late season stint and playoffs.

It would be awesome if he drew in to a game, won convincingly and stayed in the net.

Conn Smythe, Stanley Cup and Calder Trophy the following season is a pretty high bar.

Dryden won the cup and Conn Smythe and won the Calder the following year. The Bruins won the cup the following year and Dryden picked up only the Calder the following year.

He is the only goaltender to win both the Conn Smythe and the Stanley Cup before losing a regular-season game. The best money goalie I have ever seen play.
