Dahlin had better defensive metrics than all of them. Same with Evolving Hockey. Ya. Enough rationalizing for why this was actually good and questioning of our own bias. Dahlin was robbed of a nomination. Makar missed a quarter season. He wasn’t Lemieux. Edited May 6, 2023 by Thorny

Dahlin's a great defenseman no matter how many votes he gets. That said, maybe they should have a separate award for "most points by a defenseman" like the Art Ross.. call it the Coffey Trophy or something. You spelled Bobby Orr wrong. 1 2

Like Gretzky, but only from the defensive position. I think that’s the point though: Orr was dominant all-around. Changed the game to a greater degree than Wayne. Honestly should name the Norris after him. The Pointz award being named after someone lesser actually makes sense, I think that’s why you see Coffey mentioned for it a lot. Obviously he’s still great but, certainly not Orr, to your point 7 hours ago, Ducky said: You spelled Bobby Orr wrong. Should be the Logan Stanley memorial award 2
DarthEbriate Posted June 27, 2023 Report Posted June 27, 2023 Just posting this here for closure. Reading through some of the comments... we didn't really have Dahlin finishing 8th, did we? Bunch of homers. Making the playoffs (and not getting injured during the playoff chase) matters. Don't worry! In the future we can comment on how Power was stealing all of Dahlin's votes and vice versa. 20 hours ago, Thorny said: 1 1
