DarthEbriate Posted March 2, 2023 Report Posted March 2, 2023 Chicago mishandles the request and types in "Korchinski" instead of "Welinski". We can dream. 1 Quote

New guy might be on an AHL-only deal, although I don't know if that affects the contract count. THIS COULD BE THE SABRES CLEARING ROOM FOR A HUUUGE MOVE! Or they're just doing right by a player. kas23 Posted March 2, 2023 Report Posted March 2, 2023 Is this that blockbuster move that was being talked about in the other thread? 2 Quote

dudacek Posted March 2, 2023 Report Posted March 2, 2023 Well, I guess with Bjork gone we no longer needed Josh Bloom in the system to replace him. 1 2 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted March 2, 2023 Report Posted March 2, 2023 Ha! The Icehogs website has it as "Gicewicz Traded To Rochester For Future Considerations" 2 Quote

It is AHL-only. That's one more slot freed up. Still 3 goalies on the Sabres though, which is the real hang-up. Quote

I don't know if a blockbuster is coming (or anything at all is coming), but the key to this trade is that the player coming back is on an AHL deal and doesn't count toward our 50 contract limit. It's a smart move. We get rid of a player we didn't want or need and replaced him with a slot to acquire someone we do want and need. Edited March 2, 2023 by GASabresIUFAN 1 Quote

inkman Posted March 2, 2023 Report Posted March 2, 2023 Bjork was being outplayed by at least a half dozen Amerks forwards. Hinestroza looked like Pavel Bure compared to Andres. Dude brought nothing. Zero. Zip. To the AHL. Quote
