A few years ago I got a good CTB beef on weck at a Noco convenience store in Buffalo. The horseradish especially was an experience. I had to be in town today and got another one (different Noco). Huge disappointment. The roll was small and somewhat pale. The beef was grisly. The horseradish dull.

I have to come back in a month. Any suggestions? There's nothing quite like a good beef on kummelweck.

Haven’t heard that name in awhile.

I was wondering if anyone would remember that place.

It was a big treat to eat there on Sunday's for us.  Beef on Weck came with brown gravy instead of Au Jus.  The way it supposed to be!

Apparently Bar-Bill has excellent beef on weck but it's sacrilege to go there and not order the wings.

You can get both.  Their Beef on Weck is very good.  Schwabl's is better.

Schwabl's.

I've been hearing and reading bad things recently--but mostly from people I don't know.  When were you last there?

I don't love beef on weck so I don't have a nominee, sorry!

Haven't been there in a while.  (But haven't been to the Bar-Bill in a long time either.)

Yep. One of my dad’s favorites. The family bakery was around the area.

My dad's favorite was Capolla's on Willaim St and N. Ogden.  Great Italian.

No love for Sidelines? Their's is solid and Bar-Bill is good too.

I just don't love beef on weck.  I'll eat it, sure, but I am hardly a connoisseur.
