If anything was ever day to day, it’s the unpredictability of BM.

And this is why I think these designations are goofy.  Day to day.  What does that mean?  One day? Seven days?  Eleventy Billion days?  Every other sport seems to have figured out better terminology.

Bolded 1: Amen

Bolded: 2: I've always took it to mean not to exceed the next designation. So day to day is one day or up to but not to exceed two weeks. Week-to-week would be at least two weeks but not to exceed two months, which would then be month-to-month, which would be at least 2 months but not out for the season, and then out for the season, and lastly, dead.

++There's a big difference between mostly week-to-week and ALL week-to-week. Mostly week-to-week is slightly 8 days. All week-to-week? Well, there's only one thing you can do with all week-to-week.

--What's that?

++Put him on LTIR and trade for a player with an equal cap hit for the playoffs.

When everyone is healthy, they're a better than average team in the mix for a playoff position.

However, we all know they're the youngest team in the league and are lacking depth at some key positions.

That said, it should come as no surprise that they'll struggle if any of their core guys go down for any extended period of time.

Yeah the timing of it sucks, but the important thing right now is guys like Quinn and Power gaining experience as top line contributors.

This season was never about making the playoffs.

To the bold. It could have been. It's just one more missed opportunity.

They are calling him “doubtful” for a game still a full 3 days away, so at best we can call Dahlin “questionable” for Monday against the Oilers. So optimistically he’s back Monday. The Sabres actually fly out for a back to back on the road the next night, so conservatively, I’d say we actually might not see him back till Thursday, March 9 vs the Stars here in Buffalo. Unless it’s more severe than thought, and he’s out longer, that’d have him missing 4 more games, 6 total from the injury and 13 days.

10 days, 4 games appears the minimum here, if the optimistic holds true
