Does anyone know what the attendance was? On TV it looked like a full house.

ESPN has it listed at 19,070, so it was a sellout.

There is a reality where UPL needs to be better and the team defence needs to be improved.😀

There's no question about this, but the real question shouldn't be about UPL, it should be about Comrie.

UPL should be playing in the minors and working non stop with his goalie coach but he's here out of desperation by the team and he's had a few good moments as rookie goalies do (and some ugly ones). But why did we even sign Comrie?

Cromrie has to start Tuesday, IMO.

No . Our VR goggles are far more fun.

That's great news! The fans are coming back. It's been a long struggle to win back the fans who for so long been trampled on. The organization has been stabilized with the prospects for the present and future brighter than it has been in a long time. Winning and entertaining hockey is the attraction. This season has been marvelous!

I personally don't care how the goalies play as long as we come away with a win. That being said, through 2 periods the caps had 4 goals on 19 shots, which isn't great.

The real story this afternoon was Cozens. He was locked in today. Really looking forward to watching more of that for the next 7 years.

Oh heck no. Not even close.

Sabres broadcast is now a little on the dull side now and again but Marty's good and overall it's a slick professional affair. It's mid to upper range in terms of league comparisons.

Detroit and Pittsburgh are two of the worst imo. Really hate the Detroit ones. HNIC is produced extremely well and they are the most knowledgeable without question but their biases can make them hard to watch.

The ESPN broadcasts are the worst imo and they have the money to be much better. Hockey obviously an afterthought for them.

Oh heck yes. Every other broadcast show running shot totals. How freaking hard is that to incorporate into a broadcast, yet the Sabres are probably the only team in the league that doesn't.

Dunleavy doesn't even know what's going on half the time. Watched the highlights again and it was his call and he said the Sabres scored to make it 5-3 when they scored their 5th goal. No Dan, the Caps had 2...stop trying to be like the fans and put the beer down during the matinee game...

Seriously, it's infuriating they don't have the shot totals, and that's a decision some producer is making, right? They can't be unaware that showing the shots is an option.

Has to be. Or else it would cost them money to have it synced automatically or something.

Also, I’m sorry but UPL cannot let in 4 or more a game and expect a win. It’s ridiculous.

It’s happened 4 times this year now.

Sabres have supported him with 4 or more goals 14 times in 24 games.

Cozens is emerging as a player. Another young player who is taking that major step up is Power. He's already become an indispensable player for us. You can see that Quinn is soon going to make that quantum leap forward. The young core is rising together.

It's gonna be great in a few years when we don't have any checking lines and are rolling 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d scoring lines.

He was.  Kind of nice to have had a chance to see what he can do when not carrying around 2 raw rookies or a rookie and Olofsson.  (That said, still want to see him get one of those rookies back when Tuch comes back as Quinn is no longer a "raw" rookie.  Expect those 2 plus Mittelstadt could make a darn fine 2nd line.)

If you consider the line of Girgs/Jost/Okposo as a checking line, don't dismiss its importance to contributing to the team's success.

With the Tuch injury especially. It’s time to end the three goalie experiment, send UPL down and keep Vinny.

They won't have to send anyone down.  The player limit goes away at the trade deadline.

You watched a number of Rochester games last year. What do you see in the difference of play between JJ's play in Rochester vs Buffalo. Clearly, there is a qualitative difference in the higher league compared to the lower league but he is struggling more than I thought he would this year.

Yeah, several people have informed the forum, but thanks. Still, I don’t like the three headed goalie experiment and I think UPL would be best served by going back down.

Could have had 4...was stoned on another breakaway also...they were in full Globetrotter on Ice mode today.

Others watched more, but the biggest difference from last year to this is it seemed Peterka generated space for himself a lot last year.  He's not doing that nearly as often this year.  When the Kid Line got hot, all 3 guys were creating and finding space.  That hasn't really happened for him since the calendar flipped.  But until today, he'd had 3 games in a row where he got himself a truly excellent scoring chance.

Almost think he's at the point where sitting a game or 2 and just watching would help a lot again.  Now that Hinostroza is back, he might get that chance when Tuch comes back.
