Installing showers with no shutoff valves for the water? Absolutely brilliant. Actually I'm willing to bet there are shutoff valves, they just didn't put in any way to access them, even though each shower is directly in front of a closet, where an access panel can be easily hidden. So anyway, in an attempted home improvement, the cartridge in the handle just snapped in half as I was trying to remove it. I don't think they lubricated that thing at all when it was installed. So now I get to play the waiting game on an emergency plumber (luckily only a half an hour) because, thanks to said wonderful design of shutoff valves, I have no water in the entire house. I think this may inspire another project, cutting some holes in those closet walls. Seeing as you've got some time to kill waiting for the plumber, might not be a bad idea. Particularly as you quite likely might be able to fine those shut off valves (should they actually exist) and you might then have water in other parts of the house while waiting for said plumber. The water was shut off to the whole house already and I drained the line before I broke it. So nothing was going to leak. Unfortunately it’s a side effect of poor installation and cheap parts. 1 Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 7 Report Posted June 7 I am getting back to my front deck improvment / addition project tomorrow. I love playing with tools and stuff and this project is pretty easy and will end up looking pretty good. Functional too. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted June 7 Report Posted June 7 With my seldom days off, I've been putting the finishing touches on the sauna I'm building in a spare room. Went with Knotty cedar this time and just drilled fibre optic star lights into the ceiling. Can't wait to finish the grout, load the 350lbs of rocks into the heater and fire this bad boy up. Quote
