If Makar was Muel, Savoie, 2023 1st, I'd say yes immediately.

No, you don't trade a solid young locked up D man to acquire another D man. Your D doesn't get better that way. It has to be forward prospects and picks. They can have Bryson to fill the hole temporarily if they want as a toss in and I'd consider Jokiharju but Power Dahlin Muel are untouchable imo.

Makar is almost on another planet he's so good. I would take that deal in a heartbeat for him.

1. Fills a MAJOR need

2. The Pegula FLA connection

3. We can pay as much as anybody

but will we?

I think if you are making that trade, you end up including UPL.

I honestly don’t expect and goaltenders or any high prices acquisitions at the deadline.  Still I loved to consider moving UPL for Vejmelka.  He’d bridge us very nicely to Levi.

Really, I don’t see Chychrun as a must have. Of course we want to get better players, but getting him isn’t a do or die situation. The Coyotes don’t have us by the balls here. If the ask is too high, would prefer someone like Schenn or Jensen.

I'm guessing that Savoie, Quinn, JJP, Muel and the Sabres 2023 unprotected first-rounder are non-starters from KA's perspective.

I wonder whether he feels the same way about Kulich and/or Östlund.
