Digger Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 So he resigned as "Secretary of Labour" or "Labor Secretary"? Quote

Stoner Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 He saw my Sabres sweater and put his baton right into my gut after Boston's Saint Patty's Day parade. "A little present from Brad Pahk." Look at him now. Quote

Eli Cash Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 Great pick by the NHLPA. Donald Fehr is a polarizing figure, and certainly engendered some resentment towards the players he represented. Secretary Walsh had some nice wins over the past two years. Think he will do a nice job brokering labor deals without alienating the fans. Quote

Nah, Cassidy called him out during a press conference for not performing to expectation. He burned all his B’s jerseys that day. 1 Quote
Quint Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 Here's a man who had no accomplishments as Mayor of Boston (I live here) and Labor Secretary, just getting elected. What is Walsh's qualifications for this job? What was the criteria of him getting selected as head of the NHLPA? Just wondering. 1 Quote
SwampD Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 As I couldn't name a single previous NHLPA ED of the past, well, as long as I have been alive, I'm not sure what I am to do with this news. Quote

Alan Eagleson Bob Goodenow Those were the 1st 2 that really moved things along. Eagleson totally screwed the players over for years. Goodenow crushed the owners twice, though initial reports had the owners winning both negotiations. He then severely overplayed his hand and cost us an entire season. Either name ring a bell? Quote
