LGR4GM Posted January 30, 2023 Report Posted January 30, 2023 Hmm, cheap impo. Unless you believe Raty is a 1st line guy, which I don't. 1 Quote

dudacek Posted January 30, 2023 Report Posted January 30, 2023 Islanders continue to trade tomorrow for today in a mad dash to stay relevant before Lou signs off. They should be making trades the opposite direction. 2 3 1 Quote

Norcal Posted January 30, 2023 Report Posted January 30, 2023 So, comps are being made to a deal for Meier. Should, a team, feel the need to trade for him. 1 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted January 30, 2023 Report Posted January 30, 2023 Horvat's a good player and he's having his best season, but I don't think he's enough to get the Isles past the Caps, Penguins, Panthers, and Sabres. 2 Quote

Some are really high on him still aren't they? I remember his name around here. It's cute though, to see the old man try like that 3 Quote

Mr. Allen Posted January 30, 2023 Report Posted January 30, 2023 I think that was cheaper than I thought it would be. Maybe Meier price goes down 2 1 Quote
TageMVP Posted January 30, 2023 Report Posted January 30, 2023 That's a great trade for the Islanders. They have a great goalie in Sorokin, a team defense approach, and just added a guy who does everything well. They're not done yet, plenty of hockey left. And for some reason they always seem to sneak into the playoffs. I wouldn't write that team off 1 1 1 Quote

VO 4.75 through next season UFA; Beauvillier 4.15 through next season UFA. VO obviously provides more goals. 2 minutes ago, dudacek said: Sorry was Olofsson 6 weeks ago 😁 Aha. Yes, remove VO's hot streak and he'd look quite similar stat-wise. Quote

Norcal Posted January 30, 2023 Report Posted January 30, 2023 If the Canucks are open for business, as they are said to be...i'll take Boeser and Shenn please Get to work KA 1 1 Quote
Contempt Posted January 30, 2023 Report Posted January 30, 2023 About 18 months ago I think one could have acquired Luke Schenn for a wooden nickel. Now Vancouver fancies a first round choice for him. That is hilarious and any GM who makes that trade needs to win the Cup this year. No excuses. Hence, he wont be a Sabre. Quote

Remove Tage Thompson's scoring ability and he'd be exactly like a 3rd line player. See how silly saying this stuff is? 2 Quote

See how silly saying this stuff is? Like he said, Beauvillier and Olofsson are both middle-six wingers roughly similar in age and salary. Prior to this season: Beauvillier had 39, 28 (injured) and 34 points. Olofsson had 42, 32 and 49. I’d prefer Olofsson, but anyone who’s read Sabrespace is familiar with the holes in his game. The comparison isn’t “silly”. Maybe Mitts is a better match, but it’s one or the other in terms of Sabres comparables. Quote
